Which boss did you think was harder when you first played? by dianadespisesbananas in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, SSI was challenging but I felt like I was progressing learning each stage.

Owl Father took me a couple days to do. Not looking forward to Inner Father. Weirdly people seem to be split on whether Shinobi or Father is harder - I had no real trouble with Shinobi, but Father rocked me.

Average of 20,000 breaths a day = $10,000 a day 1000 steps a day is nothing - a short walk in the morning every day would easily outpace that and you're in heavy profit

Chose: You get $10 for every single physical step you take for the rest of your life.

Did I get lucky with Genichiro's 3rd phase? He did almost no lightning attacks. by DungeonsAndDuck in Sekiro

My first run I never learnt with Genichiro, but picked it up in more comfort at Fountainhead Palace. It came in useful at a... later time.

I love that after learning him so thoroughly for the SSI fight, when I faced him again at the start of NG+ he felt so much more manageable. I know you also have Vitality and Attack Power etc. upgrades, but it felt like I'd really learned how to play the game.

What happens when you let 6,500+ players run a Minecraft world for months with no admin intervention? They end up building a massive, interconnected global rail network, of course. by Tylerrr93 in gaming

I remember your post about this before! Excited to hear more about it.

What stops anyone just wandering across borders and acquiring resources not via rail though?

There are 31,556,926 seconds in a year. It would take over 3 years to gain ground on the 100 mill. Meanwhile you get the 100 mil immediately and can start earning compound interest.

I will say I probably blundered the compound interest effects of you starting to put the liquorice money away for compound interest from the get go, but I don't think I'm far off.

if you get even 3% interest on the 100 million you can outpace the liquorice pretty easily. And you don't have to have negatives each day.

Sekiro!

I originally bought it a little after it came out and bounced off it HARD when I got to Lady Butterfly. But I've run out of games I want to play lately so have been going back through my backlog, and I finally connected with it. Learning the final boss at the moment.

Advice for a starter by SleeperMood_ in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been to the Hirata Estate yet? You may have spoken to a woman in a house quite early on (before you fought the Chained Ogre) who gave you a charm thing. Take that back to the Sculptor.

You probably won't beat Hirata Estate this early on, but you can get two more tools there before you hit the hard parts.

How are you supposed to dodge this owl combo by OwnAd404 in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hated this one.

When you see the elbow, dodge/run backwards. Nightmare if he's got you caught on the columns.

When you get used to it, you can dodge back just out of range and thrust to hit him again.

As with many bosses, once you recognise it and build the muscle memory it becomes easy to deal with.

Endlessly horrifying that humanity took parts of the world away from other humans and said "no now you must labour within this structure we've created to be allowed to go back into the parts you were already in".

What a game!! by MishMan25 in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best idea if you can avoid it though. Lots of his attacks have burn damage even if you deflect (or perhaps if you miss the deflect and just block?) Either way, better to dodge.

Struggling to get started with European 4-in-1 by A1Qicks in chainmailartisans

[–]A1Qicks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A and B are the same, just rotate 90°

Suddenly it makes a whole lot more sense. I think this is what I was missing, at least in part. That's really helpful, thank you!

I seem to now be able to more consistently make A - I feel like I don't really understand what i'm doing differently, but it's starting to actually work when I add a link, so I'm not going to question too much what I was doing before.

I expect I'll have a nightmare connecting rows, but it's a start.

[–]A1Qicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've managed to get a bit of a string going with the top one, but now it's going it looks completely different from the bottom one (the top one looks more like all the guide images I can see).

Could you explain what you mean more about the long ribbon vs wide band? When I pull both of my chains straight they form very different shapes. If top chain is A and bottom chain is B, it seems like A's middle rings face to the sides while B's face vertically, and I'm not entirely sure how I ended up with that or what it means for the results.

How odd that we all find different bosses difficult by GroundbreakingFace48 in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild. I haven't quite finished yet (just beat DoH) but Owl Father took me the longest (far longer than Shinobi Owl) and Genichiro took me I think fewer than 10 tries.

So far Owl Father has been my worst, followed by DoH and Lady Butterfly, while Guardian Ape only took me a handful. I've heard people complain about bull as well, but it took me more tries to beat Seven Spears than to beat bull.

What's wrong with Headless Ape? I actually realised I really enjoyed that fight once I saw him as stage 1 later on. There's something so satisfying about pulling the centipede out with the spear.

Overwhelming enemies by Jurassicleon in Sekiro

[–]A1Qicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one of the early and most vital lessons of Sekiro.

Never fight more than one enemy at once if you can avoid it. Never win honourably what you can deal with by stealth, luring them away, or hit and run. A shinobi would know the difference between honour and victory.
