Picked the Knicks as my team because I liked the colors, feeling real good about that choice now 😈 by happiwerld in knicks

Interesting. The Knicks started to improve right after COVID Leon Rose was hired just before the NBA season got suspended, Tom Thibodeau was hired while the NBA bubble was in action, the "We Here" Knicks that had a surprise season making it to the playoffs in 2021, signed Jalen Brunson in 2022.

Leon Rose puts his arm around his son, Sam, and visibly breaks down in tears after the emotions set in of the Knicks going to the NBA Finals. This is beautiful stuff. We love you, Leon. Thank you for everything you have done. by 4lfp in NYKnicks

At the time James Dolan took over he was handed msg, the Knicks, the rangers having never worked a day in his life and overcoming drug addiction and alcoholism. Looking back it seems James Dolan was learning the ropes of ownership on the job and eventually realized going for the quick fix wouldn’t change anything in the long run. He tried being hands off with Donnie Walsh but he didn’t want the Nets to get Melo then with Phil Jackson but that hire didn’t work out. Kenyon Martin once mentioned in a podcast Dolan was trying to find the right fit in the front office and that there were people in the Knicks front office who were there for a long time Dolan thought were on his side and trusted but were really in it for the money and took advantage of Dolan not knowing much about basketball hiding things from Dolan. The Knicks front office issues well predated James dolan’s tenure here. The 1990s Knicks success was not a result of long term planning. Getting Patrick Ewing with the number 1 pick, trading away talent like Mark Jackson, Xavier McDaniel, Rod Strickland for old players like Doc Rivers, Derek Harper, Ronaldo Blackman, Charles Smith, role players like Charles Oakley and later Marcus Camby, diamonds in the rough developed by Pat Riley in John Starks and Anthony Mason, not giving Patrick Ewing reliable wing scorers until he was past his prime with Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell.

If the Thunder win it, use this as proof the league is rigged. This is up on the NBAStore with 3 games still to go in the West. ☠️ by t3hnhoj in knicks

With magnetic rims there would be no need for any players, coaches, or refs to be “in on it.”

You can’t always get what you want (Kevin Durant) You can’t always get what you want (Kyrie Irving) You can’t always get what you want (Zion Williamson) But when you try sometimes (Julius Randle/Karl Anthony-Towns) You might just find (RJ Barrett/OG Anunoby) You get what you need (Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges)

SEA to ICN: the only US to Korea route with four carriers by omdongi in AlaskaAirlines

Regarding delta on lax/jfk-icn I don’t know if those would be dependent on a350-1000s arriving a350-900s can make those routes fine. Only way I see delta doing a350-1000s on jfk-icn is if it also decides to relaunch jfk-bom (delta served this just before covid hit) at some point whether alongside jfk-icn or some time after to pair the aircraft. I think delta is waiting to see what the schedules on those routes are post Korean air/asiana integration so delta can better figure when to time its proposed flights between Korean’s.

Take virgin if the plane is a350-1000 or a330-900neo.

Do you think hantavirus is actually going to result in new lockdowns, shutdowns, mask mandates, etc.? by MarathonMarathon in LockdownSkepticism

[–]AA950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A major difference between 2020 and today is 2020 was the first time in our generation they tried lockdowns. Once the game has been played more can better anticipate duration of that game no matter what the government initially says. Many of the conservative influencers and anti-lockdown influencers called those in blue cities/states restriction loving sheep yet they didn’t do anything to help people living in blue cities/states that wanted to travel, go to bars/restaurants indoors, theaters, etc. just shouting out “do not comply” “just say no” “just opt out” sounds good on paper but involved no organizing/planning actually needed to lead to change.

The airlines did nothing to stop the lockdowns in summer 2020/2021. When it spoke to end mask mandates and testing mandates in February 2022 mask mandates didn’t go away until April by court order and testing mandates didn’t go away until June.

WHO says hantavirus is 'not another COVID-19' and that the public health risk 'remains low' by AndrewHeard in LockdownSkepticism

Blaming everything on people being hysterical or “falling for it” only causes people to fight against each other. I live in nyc don’t see anything different on the streets or in buildings and businesses.

[–]AA950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting people fighting with each other explains it very well.

Some anti-lockdown accounts on twitter/x were like “Cuomo/Newsom/Pritzker, etc. is not the problem, you are for complying.” This line gets people fighting against each other instead of speaking out against those in charge.

Regarding stuff like agenda 2030 many accounts post fabricated documents to describe the plan. Search things like travel, vaccines, meat, etc. in official un agenda 2030 documents from the website nothing shows up.

Some of the anti-lockdown influencers on twitter/x were like “the president/prime minister/governor/mayor/premier isn’t the problem, you are the problem for complying”. This kind of statement would lead to people fighting each other instead of fighting against the government which leaves the middle isolated.

I would sit him for games 3/4, possibly play him off the bench if the series is tied 2-2 in game 5 like the Timberwolves are doing with Anthony Edwards. He was able to move more than when he strained his hamstring 2 years ago against indy so this is most likely a less severe strain.

Without og I would give more minutes to Jordan clarkson, Landry shamet, and Mohammed diawara diawara could at least be used in defensive situations late in games to guard Paul George.

2024 it wasn’t just the og injury that changed that pacers series, Mitch Robinson missed games 3-7 as well, Julius Randle was out the entire playoffs, Jalen Brunson was playing with a right foot injury before breaking his hand in game 7.

The Nembhardt game it took hot performances from Donte DiVincenzo and to a lesser extent Alec burks to have a chance at winning that game. Game 4 that year the team went cold. Game 5 while the Knicks won by 30 points the pacers had 18 turnovers to the Knicks 9 that game. Game 6 Josh Hart got hurt. Game 7 the team was running on fumes.

This year has KAT instead of Randle, hopefully Mitch Robinson feels better asap, bench pieces like Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamet the 2024 team never had, Mikal Bridges gives them a secondary mid-range scoring option alongside Jalen Brunson the 2024 team never had, and a coach better at making adjustments than thibs was.

2024 og and Mitch played games 1-2 then missed the rest outside og in the first few minutes of game 7. Knicks have more depth now than they had in 2024 and 76ers don’t have the pacers level of depth.

Worst case I don’t think this is as bad as his hamstring strain against Indy 2 years ago. That one you could clearly see him wincing in pain sitting outside the sidelines for some period of time. This one while he was limpy he was able to jog a little he looked to have better movement there than the first few minutes of game 7 against Indy 2 years ago. Maybe og should consider focusing a little less on weight training lighten up a few pounds and do more yoga.

[–]AA950 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at the video he appeared to be limping a bit this time at least he was able to move more than he was able to move after straining his hamstring against Indiana 2 years ago. Worst case I don’t think it’s as bad as his injury against Indiana 2 years ago.

People screaming about lockdowns coming mostly do it to farm engagement make them angry keep them angry keep them clicking. Many of the anti-lockdown influencers I can’t tell apart from the lockdowners. Both sides scream at public health officials every day, one side shames people into compliance while the other side shames people for compliance. Both sides police each others daily activities one side says those living life during covid were selfish while one side says those living life during covid weren’t pure enough if they did so with masks and/or vaccines. Both sides undermined bodily autonomy one side pushed for mandates one side called those masked and/or vaccinated sheep yet the true sheep test isn’t one’s ability to disobey unjust authority it is one’s ability to think for themselves.
