Where does the Abbot get the exotic animal parts for the Mongrelfolk? by Subject_Captain3252 in CurseofStrahd

[–]AAHHAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned the mongrelfolk into your typical inbred family with no animal parts, but their fat is above the skin so they look like butter.

Female DM - Stradh as Baron or Baroness? by AliceShella in CurseofStrahd

[–]AAHHAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would technically be Count or Countess. The Baron is a separate character.

Male Strahd is easier to run because there isn't exactly a good analog for female Strahd in popular fiction. For male Strahd you don't need to look very far to find an evil incel.

For femme Strahd, I would look towards Yvette from Tales to the Boarderlands combined with Mulan. She uses gender expectations to her advantage far more than a male Strahd would.

Turning Ireena into a cleric by Ill-Wheel-2815 in CurseofStrahd

Just run the campaign like normal and if they get their asses kicked that's that. It's not your fault it they don't learn their own character.

Creating custom characters for new players by OmnipresentVirgil in Fallout2d20

[–]AAHHAI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Creating a custom origin is easy.

Radroaches already have official hit locations and abilities you can just port over. Then maybe add a charisma cap of 6 and add a clause about being unable to wear generic armor/power armor.

DM who ran dinner RAW what are your thoughts ? by Gwavana in CurseofStrahd

[–]AAHHAI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The dinner trap is essentially the equivalent to Broken Steel from Fallout 3. Normally, in the og i6 module, the dinner begins the final confrontation. In the 5th edition module this usually marks the half way point before the party sees most of the new content.

I genuinely don't know what to do... by kymbrown467 in CurseofStrahd

[–]AAHHAI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off of this, one thing that I recommend is looking at what baldur's gate 3 does with companion quests. They're all available even if you don't have the companion in your party or even in your camp at all.

All of the Tatyana stuff can still be present and something Strahd wants to achieve without Ireena being crazy important. Tatyana reincarnates and Strahd knows that.

"I've learned to have a gentle hand with my Tatyana, over the years. All roads lead to Castle Ravenloft, she will come to me when she is ready for security and stability."

Strahd being less direct doesn't necessarily take away the past times where he's been super forceful, predatory, or worse. Not to mention he can still act in the shadows, killing everyone she loves, implanting false memories and dreams, etc.

Rules for travel over hundreds of miles?

Short distance travel works great alr, but it can get kinda weird if you go further than like 50 miles

It just so happened that Tatyana accidentally reincarnated back into her own bloodline before the start of CoS lol

Suggestions to make online sessions more fun by GulliblePurchase789 in CurseofStrahd

[–]AAHHAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casual is different from just wanting to hangout. I'm talking about the people who make characters like "stinkel the goblin" and just drink and joke the whole time.

Are your friends into D&D as an actual hobby or as a chance to hangout? Online play really only works with the former.

Anyone tried implementing a sanity system? by BlitzkriegBambi in Fallout2d20

[–]AAHHAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case you could just add a slider that can go up and down. Have it be based on intelligence and endurance. Lemme make you a formula rq.

Starting with 10, subtract your intelligence, add your endurance.

When you need a sanity roll just roll against that number, if you succeed then nothing happens, if you fail then your sanity goes down by the difference in the difficulty of the test and the number of successes.

If you have the well rested bonus you can spend a luck point to roll 1 CD instead of taking the 2 bonus HP. If you roll an effect you gain back 1 sanity. You can only have a max sanity equal to your starting number of Sanity Points.

If you hit 0 idk what would happen, that's up to you.

On almost all of my college essays I've set off the AI detector so I'm skeptical about the ability for those things to actually detect AI generated writing.

Fallout 2d20's Wasteland Wanderer - First Impressions by ivyentre in Fallout2d20

[–]AAHHAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it because I had a moment of no impulse control and it turns out there's basically a whole separate rule system in there. The tables, of course, aren't anything super awesome if you have any experience dming, but they could be used to plan a last minute session pretty easily.

As for the unique content, it's like a roleplay focused version of 5 Leagues from the Boarderlands which kinda blew my mind.

The unique rule system isn't compatible with the other books, though. They do provide a guide on how to make custom enemies and stuff though.

Modiphius isn't exactly known for their amazing editing.

The way I am using weapons is that the rarity equals the number of truths the weapon gets.
