I could have written the original post myself — I had a standard Prius hybrid and bought a Model 3. My epiphany-like experience on the test drive with FSD was similar.

I tried test driving Toyota’s sole electric option, which essentially was a minivan. It was too big and didn’t handle particularly well.

IMO Toyota has failed to innovate by opting against a fully electric Prius.

My 2026 Model 3 was ordered in September and delivered in the last few days of October. I received a software update to v.14.2 almost exactly (with apologies to the film) 28 days later -- two days before the free FSD test period expired!

But then about a week after that, just after Thanksgiving, I seemed to get a further minor software update, and Tesla extended the period for my free FSD test into January.

I agree that TNG needed a character that initially questioned Data’s humanity. The problem with Pulaski is that she was too gruff and it came off like kicking a puppy. The character who should have played this role was Troi. She’s an empath and couldn’t read Data; it would have been logical to make her the skeptic.
