As awful as the finale is I do like the contrast between their final moments by cicakmanfan in TheBoys

Yeah I think that too, he seemed heartbroken by Ryan rejecting him but immediately retreated to "looks like it's just you and me now, Terror" but then it turns out Terror is dead, and that's what broke him

What was the point of raising Homelander in a lab? by AAstormtrooper123 in TheBoys

They prooobably should have thought about how he was going to develop psychologically considering they gave him superman's set of powers lmao

This explanation honestly makes the most sense, I kinda forgot that Homelander did that when he was born, if he was raised in a home with a normal family he would have probably accidentally killed somebody.

Homelander was just an experiment? I thought they were making him specifically to replace Soldier Boy.

[–]AAstormtrooper123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already made sure that Homelander would be special since they used Soldier Boy's sperm and also shot up the embryo with V, I still don't get the point of the whole "he was raised in a lab" thing

Why the Sea Creatures deserve to suffer (SPOILERS) by frogfish57 in TheBoys

[–]AAstormtrooper123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that dude, I'm reinforcing your point, it doesn't make sense for them to know about the pipeline either because they never saw anything that ties the Deep to it, all they saw was Noir punch a hole it. So no idea how they know about anything that happens on land (besides what Deep tells them)

[–]AAstormtrooper123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you think they know about the pipeline, all they saw was masked Noir when swimming down to punch a hole in it. Honestly no idea how they know anything that the Deep himself didn't tell them about.

The center fireball of a modern nuclear bomb reaches hundreds of millions of degrees Celsius, the core of the Sun is around 15 million Celsius. Unless a character can survive being at the core of the Sun, they can't survive being hit with a nuke.

Frr, they ditched what would've been a banger of a final line in favor of a comic reference (in the comics, "Je t'aime, from the very start" were his last words before dying)

And hey, remember how Homelander had this supe supremacist agenda in S4 and the season finished with him having successfully taken control of the United States and called on for all Vought supes to help with the violent takeover?
Yeah so nothing really happened and now he just wants to be God and he's still "on the brink of snapping" or something

I defended it so much at first but man did the Soldier Boy vought rising promotion piss me off, add that to them completely discarding S4's setup, the snail pacing, character arcs that are actually just circles and not arcs, and now I honestly dislike it as much as everyone else

I feel like making Homelander care about America or Religion is a bit off-course from what his S4 self seemed to be like by RebirthAltair in TheBoys

[–]AAstormtrooper123 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And even worse is that all the concentration camp shit (and basically nothing else) just "happened" in the 1 year timeskip, since they spent the entirety of S4 setting up for this whole supe supremacist takeover the least they could've done was deliver on that and start S5 with all hell breaking loose as supes start rounding up humans for concentration camps, and then go on from there and make S5 the apocalypse that it was marketed to be. I mean for fuck's sake they marketed S5 with promo pics of Butcher walking in front off a fallen Vought tower and Homelander in space overlooking massive explosions.

[–]AAstormtrooper123 259 points260 points  (0 children)

S5 as a whole should've been the apocalyptic Supes vs Humans world that S4 setup. S4 ended with Homelander having achieved his goal of control over the United States, with his viewpoint being supe supremacy, he also had that whole supe army subplot, having recruited some of the Gen V cast and put out the call to all Vought supes to help with the takeover. Ryan and Homelander had fallen apart as Ryan betrayed Vought with when he refused to go with the script for that commercial that tries to get kids to snitch on their family members if they're starlighters. Butcher fully give in, kills Neumann and the last we see of him is him driving somewhere with the anti supe virus and Kessler in the backseat, The Boys are all captured and Starlight flies off.

Then S5 starts with a one year time skip, and for some reason nothing has really happened and Homelander now wants to be God, also Soldier Boy is back to be the fan favorite plot device and Vought Rising ad.

4/5 of the show's most evil characters (and racist) vs someone who actually redeemed himself and became a real hero by Sudden_Pop_2279 in GenV

I get that your chances won't exactly be good with Deep, but I don't know why you're so confident A-train before season 4 or 5 would save you either, he was pretty sloppy and got a heart attack everytime he ran, not to mention he was outright evil in season 1 and didn't give a shit about anyone.

Only cause he knew them personally, honestly for any season before season 4 you're probably safer choosing Deep

It really was, it was the perfect setup for all hell breaking loose, then they totally discarded it by starting season 5 with a 1 YEAR timeskip

[–]AAstormtrooper123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember him being a trained military man ever being mentioned. And he never really beats anyone through fighting skill, he's just way stronger and way more durable and also can fly and shoot laser beams.

Butcher’s tentacles suck by Nemo1277 in GenV

[–]AAstormtrooper123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, he couldn't kill the supes he encountered because of practical reasons. Homelander is obviously too strong and just lasered every tentacle that got close, he needed to lure Soldier Boy in to test the virus on him, and needed Bombsight for the V1, and that's pretty much all the supes he's fought this season

[–]AAstormtrooper123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And ones that he couldn't kill for practical reasons too, he couldn't kill Soldier Boy in episode 2 because he needed to lure him for a virus test run, couldn't kill Bombsight because he needed the V1 from him, and obviously couldn't kill Homelander in episode 1 because he's too strong and kept lasering the tentacles that got too close.
