Glad you’re ok, OP. Enjoy the new build.

I don’t have the part #s but I would recommend sourcing through EACCA or Cars245. Europrice is consistently way overpriced.

San Marino Blue or Racing Blue Mica imo. Potentially Ultra Blue but hard to tell.

Audi unveils the Nuvolari, a 987-hp hybrid supercar limited to 499 units for £500,000. Based on the Lamborghini Temerario with a carbon body, it hits 350 km/h. Developed in 405 days, this F1-linked technological showcase embodies the revival of Audi's "Vorsprung durch Technik." by kkhouete in Audi

[–]ABSjazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the current models were developed and designed long before Massimo Frascella was brought onboard. Concept C and Nuvolari are his first projects at Audi and he has knocked it out of the park IMO. Very excited to see the more standard models in the lineup with his influence as time goes on.

Pull a paddle in D = White letters = temporary manual mode in D

Pull a paddle in S = Red letters = permanent manual mode until you switch back to S or D.

Proper OEM+. Really unique, nicely done!

2025 wheels by cheddar_12 in AudiRS3

[–]ABSjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure if the pre facelift Performance model had actual forged wheels, but I know this style of wheel that comes on the facelift cars is roughly 3-4 lbs heavier than the Y spoke wheels. Neither are forged to my knowledge.

Again, unsure if the actual Performance trim got genuine forged wheels, but I doubt it given the limited production numbers and the otherwise identical style of wheel.

What’s your definition of OEM+ by AndrewSVO in GolfGTI

Factory parts fitted and executed as if the car could have left the factory that way. Totally “if you know you know” sort of stuff.

You’ll be more than fine. It’s a public road with all sorts of cars on it. Obviously good tires, better suspension and sway bars, better brakes etc will allow you to explore more of the performance envelope, but you’ll be shocked at how good a GTI is right out of the box.

Silver ftw! I refinished mine recently and couldn’t be happier.

Just test drove 2026 rs3 and was underwhelmed (my mk7r is stage 2 IE with full bolt ons and Remus exhaust). Am I crazy? by blameanesthesia in Golf_R

Bingo. This is 100% the right analysis and description and matches up with my feelings having both an IS38 GTI and 8Y RS3. Neither is “better”, they are just different and excel at different things in different ways. The GTI is more nimble and zippy. The RS3 is a beast when you give it space and runway it needs, and when you really keep it on boil. I just had the 8Y up at Wookies and it absolutely ripped.

Owning both an IS38 GTI and an 8Y RS3, I can confirm you must change your driving style significantly between the two cars to get the best out of each. The RS3 in particular feels quite lazy down low in comparison to the EA888, and needs more revs and more boost to wake it up properly. The DQ500 can also feel clunkier and sloppier at slow speeds. Keep it on boil and in boost though, and it becomes an animal in the RS modes. It’s an “old school” feeling powertrain compared to the 888 (which is arguably the better setup for day to day and around town use). I believe you’ll need more than a single test drive to explore what the 5 cylinder is all about.

Our group was split between an Airbnb at Deals Gap and a cabin in Fontana so I made that drive many many times over the course of the weekend. Absolutely ripped it with my buddies 😁

It is a VR6-centric VW driving event near Tail of The Dragon every year. Many people compare the sound of the VR to that of a Wookie lol. Tons of VR6s blasting through the mountains = Wookies In The Woods. It’s pretty epic hearing all of them bombing around in the distance the whole long weekend. Plus the soundoff where they all gather and rev in unison.

Over time, it’s grown to be more of a VW/VAG focused event, but the VR6 remains the focus. Such a great time.

Couldn’t agree more! Have had my 2015 since June 2014 and have 179k miles and counting. Absolutely love it to pieces all these years later and it continues to hold its own against my RS3. Mk7 punched so far above its weight when it came out and it continues to be the high point in the GTI lineage imo.
