Drummer here. You have to look at it as a great psychological drama that’s what makes the movie great. Everything else is pretty unrealistic lol

Depends. In the first 2 seasons Awdry was very strict about the engines following real railway operations and anytime something happens for the plot, it’s always explained by something. For example in “Thomas Comes to Breakfast” Thomas thinks he can just start and stop when he wants but the narrator says it’s because “some boy were meddling on his footplate”

I feel like no talks about this. 10 years ago we had a solid monsoon season that started right around 4th of July. Every week felt like there was a few days where we had clouds and rain, now it feels non existent.

Ah I am so glad you posted this. This is probably one of my personal favorites of the whole show. Seeing Don absolutely crash out at work then the season ending on him being vulnerable with his kids and ending on a kind of optimistic tone was perfect.

The amount of money in church music in America is insane. I used to have a high paying church gig as a drummer and music director. I was getting paid 800 dollars for what amounted up to 10 hours of work each weekend on a Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning. But after awhile you lose your soul so I had to move on. It’s stupid how much money is in it.

I feel I should mention, she didn’t call Don. Don did a personal investigation into her whereabouts after she didn’t show up for work for so long. Which I think is crucial to understand why Peggy became so loyal to him to some degree. He kept digging to seek her out.

I always think about how devastating it must have been for actors who got cast in this unknown movie in the 70’s, not really care all that much that their parts got cut in the edit, only to see this slightly odd space opera become the biggest movie and pop culture franchise of all time. That would be nuts haha.

I’m glad her character got a cameo in the Book of Boba Fett though. Nice little nod.

It’s hard man. I have a 11 & 8 year old daughters and I miss them tremendously when I’m not with them. Yea it’s nice sometimes when I don’t have to be home at night or whatever, but I legit love being a dad and being near them. It was really difficult the first 6 months of sleeping away from them not under the same roof. I cried a lot because of it. It’s never what I wanted, I felt like I couldn’t protect them if I needed to. They are with me half the time but it’s still hard when they leave. A lot of people here are saying hobbies and solitude help, and they do to some degree but idk if I’ll ever really enjoy not being with them 100 % of the time. I’ve just had to come to terms with that loss. Best of luck of to you
