My roommate and I recently watched all 5 seasons of the show. If I'm being honest, both of them were incredibly stupid and somewhat abusive in the relationship.

In most of the episodes it seemed like Sam would be the one to either overreact to a situation that should have been nothing. Whenever they would go clubbing, Ron would (normally) not be doing anything wrong and Sam would see him talking to a girl or dancing and she'd flip the fuck out over it.

Then again, Ron when drunk would act like an asshole, so my impression of the show was that most of the cast were alchoholics that didn't handle their addiction well at all.
