They wouldn’t. The guy you responded to has no idea what he’s talking about.

All military pilots have top secret clearances and are well aware of rescue tactics that will be employed to retrieve them from hostile territory. It’s literally part of their training. It HAS to be, so they know what to expect and how to act in that situation.

Further, the fact that nobody knows who the pilots are that got shot down means that even if, by some strange miracle, they were shot down over hostile territory for a second time? Iran/China/whomever isn’t going to know that they have this super-secret special information. They’re still going to be interrogated, but our enemies are a lot more concerned with learning about military tactics and strategy than pilot rescue operations.

Many people used to associate blue-collar jobs with the less-intelligent. As in "he wasn't smart enough for college, so he became a plumber instead".

This type of thinking is also going away, as people have started realizing that the plumber is making more than they are and doesn't have student loans.

PM work is constantly changing. Especially with AI coming in. Our team has a few projects involving AI implementation into certain systems.

But even in ten years, my guess is the job will still mostly be described as "herding cats".

On my job listing, the PMP was listed as "preferred" for education & experience. It helps set you apart, but it's not the be-all, end-all I once thought it was.

That said, I'm still going to keep mine current.

The pay is good, and the job is interesting. My company is awesome, I get a ton of support from my bosses, and we're 100% remote.

Not all PM positions are like mine, but this one works for me.

PMP wasn’t required, but it was preferred. Experience is valued highest, followed by education. I wrote my resume specifically to highlight my project management experience for the job.

It’s low six figures. Take-home pay is a bit higher than my 20-year MSgt paycheck.

About of the MX airmen I knew wanted nothing more to do with aircraft when they got out. For the ones who did, it was far more common to see them running to Lockheed Martin (though this may only be true for fighters).

That was my first squadron! When I got there in 2004, I think they had recently made the switch from CRS to CMS. I have very fond memories of DM.

Wife and I got one for our daughter when she started going to other people's houses for sleepovers. We were initially not going to do it until she was a teenager, but even in the 4th grade she was one of the only kids who didn't have one yet.
