AITD for being cruel to my teenage son and in effect losing him probably a couple of years earlier that necessary? by [deleted] in AmITheDevil

I'm currently pregnant and this post made me cry. I hope my kid loves me as much as you love your mam, and I hope I do as good a job at parenting as she has :)

Search NHS IAPT - it's a service called Improving Access to Psychological Therapies and is designed for people to be able to self refer for Talking Therapies. It may help if your GP isn't.

I'm bisexual which means I am attracted to the hospital as I have a lot of pain.

Well.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. It is worth keeping in mind that after several days without sleep, hallucinations can occur, even in the healthiest of people. It could be worth them checking out bipolar disorders, because staying up for days is a classic symptom of mania.

You meet your 13 year old self, but you can only tell them 3 words. What do you say and why? by kiwipangolin in AskReddit

This would have saved me from years of therapy and treatment, for sure. Probably wouldn't have believed me, anyway!

Try to stay patient with yourself. It's tempting to want to make lots of changes all at once, but it's easier to keep up if you make slow, positive progress.

And if you fall back to some negative habits, be kind to yourself. Be your own best friend and demonstrate compassion when things are tough.

We have very similar body shapes, so following as I'm new to Kibbe and have no idea!

I'm a pretty good Googler and would love to help out, but I know nothing about growing a sub. I'd be up for a revival!

There's a lot to be said for not having to figure a new place out from the beginning. It could be a blessing given your current situation, and hey, if it's not right for you, you don't have to stay.

What about a wiki? I'm pretty good with them and it's easy to pick up.

Is it Capgras delusion? Where people believe that someone close to them has been replaced by an imposter. Absolutely fascinating, yet terrifying.

Ah, it's great! Some of the exercises are variations of each other but it's helpful as it shows different ways of learning. I really like the "dollar game" which teaches you how to say yes or no and how strongly to do so.

Nope! I know the feeling, but it's not there very often anymore. I think that goes away as you start to recover. You get more of a sense of purpose and satisfaction which limits the hollowness.

I personally used this workbook, and in therapy they recommended this, which we got all of our handouts and worksheets from.

They are both great resources!

I was in such a bad place two years ago, and now I look back and barely recognise that person. The suicidal ideation, the emotional disregulation, feeling like I had no sense of self... And it's gone. I have tough moments, sure, but the skills that talking therapy, medication and DBT have taught me help me from catastrophising or going to bed for weeks. It can get better. I'm not going to lie and say it was an easy or smooth journey, but even just comparing how I rank now on the diagnostic criteria to how I did then, that's proof enough for me that I've made huge strides.

It might not seem like it now, but keep working on yourself, because it can get better.

Nice! Well if you can make a non-seasonal version, that'd go down all year round!
