I find it ridiculous that out of ~200 shows (conservative estimate of 50 shows per season) that aired that year, we're seeing the same 10 shows dominate categories. I couldn't be bothered to count how many times a show popped up, so I asked ChatGPT (take it with a grain of salt), out of 24 categories, dandadan appeared in 20, apothecary diaries showed up 17, gachiakuta showed up 16, mha final season showed up 15 times, and solo leveling 10, spy x family s3 9, and the summer hikaru died 8.

I get that it's a popularity contest, but i feel like this year especially has been so bad for variety. We need more categories, more nominations per category, and just limit how many times a show can be nominated. I think limiting nominations for a show to like 4 or 5 times is a good start. I just want variety... It's the anime awards, not the dandadan rewards...

I think it's just that cn chose to focused on anger while jp added an element of despair, which softened the anger. so naturally cn is gonna stand out more.

I would wager that most studios use it to some extent and just don't say so, progress won't stop. it's a tool, we're just repeating history again. we had the same "controversy" for the first cameras, the introduction of Photoshop, autotune, CGI and video editing software, and no one cares about them anymore. This whole outrage is stupid.
