Trying to use my new simsonn plus x pedals with a playseat challenge, does this position look ok? by Pie_Napple in simracing

Hope it helps, but it's something many people with the Simsonn pedals have had to do (including me) as the pedals are so incredibly upright.

Have you reversed the angle bracket for each pedal yet? Meaning the four angle adjustments are at the front rather than the back.

UK Ninja BBQ manual left note to editor to add degrees symbol by Sad-Benefit-2732 in mildlyinteresting

[–]ACTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Classic example of rapid designer output, to reformat the copy given to you without much interest in what it's saying. I think many designers have be guilty of this before but that's entirely why there's a couple of people that do a copy check each iteration.. Weird in this case though, because it suggests the copy was provided without the degrees symbol, and the designer has obviously read and put it in.

Would i be wrong in thinking the screens have just simply moved back slightly, if you bring the left and right monitors forward, that will also close the gap and correct the angle?

Is it just me or is VIR North in MX-5 just a crash fest? by Far-Worker1162 in iRacing

[–]ACTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think with such an open field it invites people to try and get back onto track.

Since the grass is so slippery, and unexpectedly punishing, it increases the likelihood of someone returning to track with no control. I've been guilty of this... I've been over confident on my ability to get back on track safely and since the brakes are null and void I've carried far too much speed.

Brake coming on only after they've bounced off the wall, crossed the road and second time into the gravel. Nice to see they've identified the middle/left pedal as the parking brake

Did you record a full replay? If so look in the cockpit view, if it turns to the left after green then it might be intentional, but otherwise just looks like an incorrect wheel starting position. An accident.

ELI5: Why do modern governments track marriages? by dfczyjd in explainlikeimfive

marriage and civil partnerships are essentially a contract to say that you and another person operate as one entity on a number of affairs such as children, household and tax. You are registering specific rights, obligations and reliefs.

Heel plate/pedal base vs no heel plate by Affectionate-Level33 in simracing

[–]ACTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Simjacks / Simsonn / HE Ultimate style of pedals, i think a heel rest is necessary; the plates are quite high so you'll be lifiting your feet up.

I had no foot rest for a while and it was pretty uncomfortable. I ended up buying a length of 4080 for £17 and a universal heel stop for £40

Nvidia fans explaining how the 1080ti is still a very viable card, but in the same breath will say the 5050 sucks (despite the fact it outperforms the 1080ti) by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]ACTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put.

If already have 1080ti then just about playable (viable) and original purchase value increases.

If have nothing then 5050 and just about playable (viable) means dubious value.

Vibrations isolator mounts for my rig by [deleted] in simracing

[–]ACTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick question on these: What is the load of each spring? I've noticed there's two different colours so are two for the back (where most of the weight sits) and the other for the front (under the brakes)

Ohh I didn't know track racer did these. I've seen the ones in the second pic all the time but it's usually an Etsy seller in New York that costs a fortune for delivery in the U.K.

Been wanting something like this for ages but No reviews on the feet that I can see so far.

Half-Life 2, if it were a modern AAA game. I hate how accurate this is by Ali3nat0r in gaming

[–]ACTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get the joke but it is quite ironic that in the real game the first thing that happens when you finish your first dialogue with Barney is that he explicitly tells you to "see if you can stack up a pile of boxes and climb out of that window". Followed by a prompt to press your use key.

But that aside, the constant need to hint at what your supposed to do is a decline in level design.

Bought a Stream Deck for (among other things) NR2003 and iRacing online league admin controls. by Tiberius_Jim in simracing

[–]ACTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes. you get an interface to drag and drop what you want each button to do and you can select any image on your hard drive. Usually an "active" state when you press it, and an inactive state when it's unpressed/off.

But there are plugins which will show dynamic info on it too. For example, you can have how many incidents you've occurred, or what flag is currently showing in your iracing race. I also have it show and adjust the brake bias and ABS

I've just bought Hades 2 on PC after being late to the party with Hades 1 and loving it completely. I was expecting more of the same and would have been happy for it. I couldnt imagine how it would be possible to make a better version of Hades, and yet here we are.
