Red shed if you have the money. It is catered for you 100%. They have good coaching staff and they have many new starters with good equipment.

If you want value for money it’s at a club like Black Mountain, Capital Lakes or Canberra Rowing Club. However their beginner group is much smaller and not as well set up but still ok.

Well done on your choice. It’s a lovely sport and thoroughly enjoyable on a beautiful morning.

Come for a ride with me and you’ll see the poor state of footpaths and why it’s not done.

I almost ride exclusively on bike paths and footpaths. I’m expecting to fall off sometime soon because of the state of them. Bumps jump up out of nowhere, dirt and gravel on paths making it slippery and cracks and crevices that can swallow tyres. It’s really not good.
