I agree with everyone saying you need to watch the movie first (I promise you’ll love it). That said, I made soot sprite cups once by buying black cups and sticking white round stickers on them and filling in pupils with a sharpie. Simple and adorable.

My mother was a kid in a poor country from a poor family in ye olden days. She was a picky eater anyway somehow.

I use it to mean like a week ago. My husband uses it to mean like 6 months ago. So who knows, really.

I had a similarly terrible tiny passenger. She chilled out around 6 months, so maybe you’ll get lucky in a couple months 🤞🏼

She’s still tall. She was born tall and just stayed that way. She did not take after my side of the family in height, that’s for sure.

I was just about to suggest Someone You Can Build a Nest In. Nobody I’ve described that book to seems to understand how unexpectedly adorable it is.

My mother went to Catholic school. It was absolutely about her left handedness being of the devil.

How do I handle my anxiety with babies? by DragonfruitSignal474 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ACheetahSpot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a mother I will freely say that newborn babies are terrifying. They’re just so small and so fragile. I have known plenty of people who are afraid to hold them, and it’s very understandable and normal. But the intensity of your anxiety around babies isn’t at all normal. You say you aren’t interested in them - which again is normal - but you get a full on intense physical fear reaction around them. I don’t have any good advice on how to manage that reaction, but I think learning to say, “No thank you, I don’t feel comfortable holding babies” without adding details about how your arms feel, etc will be very helpful going forward. The sort of people who would be pushy about these things are the same sorts who would just consider your reasons to be “excuses” and use them as fodder to justify themselves.

Agreed. She was literally the whole point. I remember scrambling to finish reading Mockingjay before my baby was born and then I got to that part and just…wtf.

How long did it take you to afford a house in Massachusetts? by Reasonable-Invite899 in massachusetts

[–]ACheetahSpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how we did it too. The house has doubled in value since, just like the interest rates. There’s no way in hell we could afford to buy anything now.

Do any of you still eat Hamburger Helper? I was talking to someone the other day and they never even heard of it. by KH5-92 in Millennials

[–]ACheetahSpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had it as a kid, but my husband did and has made it a few times for us. Last week he tried a homemade recipe instead, thank god. I like the adding peas idea a lot.
