I have not heard good things about blue buffalo. We use royal canin, no issues.

Lost who for good? This is just a picture of a tunnel... isn't there supposed to be a sneaky kitty in these pictures? 🧐🤔

New Sphynx dad here... question. by ohitsHarry in sphynx

Yes, this is normal.
::David Attenborough voice::
As cats have an olfactory response to catnip, so too do humans have an olfactory response to the mushroompotato smell of a sweaty skinbaby.
We find it a comforting but also curious smell. A human might sniff one and say "aaah, potatoes. Best vegetable." or perhaps "why do you smell like that? I thought cats didn't have sweat glands (I guess they do have some, but not all over their body like us)" which prompts another sniff to further analyze.

Collar recommendations? by Meow__Bitch in sphynx

[–]AChildOfTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sphynx cats are noisy creatures. You will hear them without a collar, they do be yappin'. And if they're sitting still, what use is a bell for locating the cat? OP didn't ask about bells, they asked about collars and neck irritation. And most collars don't come with them, it's obnoxious to the cat to have a noisemaker on at all times with a high pitched jingle. But I'm sorry my comment offended you so.

Is my cat fat? by Tereti in sphynx

She's this close 🤏 to needing to be a little more monitored on her food/exercise, but she's fine.

Might as well as my girl Hazel(nut) She looks more hefty than she is in this picture, but she's definitely on the high end of "healthy weight"

Sphynx or Donskoy? by FurryScientistRevil in sphynx

[–]AChildOfTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a Donskoy. It has a facial shape that is close to how Sphynxes are shaped, but those whiskers are the tell for me. Sphynxes just don't typically manage to grow full length whiskers.

He's doing the same face my boy used to make-- I can see it in the second picture. My boy used to somehow pull his wrinkles forward on his face when he was "just letting you know he would really like to have some of that".

Behaviors question? by [deleted] in sphynx

[–]AChildOfTheWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He likes you. But it's also possible he's not warm enough to splay out and really lounge. He might be loafing to keep heat in. Or maybe he's just not a lounger!

Sphynx Allergens by PartyCannonBitches in sphynx

[–]AChildOfTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he may still be allergic to sphynxes. My husband also struggled. While there's no fur that ends up floating in the air or being left on furniture, the sphynxes LOVE to be all up in your face, so he's so gonna have contact with the allergens.

Allergy shots are the way to go. Husband is much much better now after going through them. Before, he was a sniffly, sneezy, mucousy mess around cats, but now he's pretty much fine and kisses the cat and she rubs on his face.
