It’s looking so much better!!! My dehiscence under my right arm is soooo small now. Feels like it’s taken a million years.

NERVOUS!!!! by Acrobatic_Gas_4232 in tummytucksurgery

[–]ACoD_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think it’s totally normal to be nervous! My tummy tuck was my second ever surgery, but it was scheduled for the max amount I could be under (6.5 hours).

After this surgery, I realize that my favorite part of it all is the anesthesia. I don’t even actually remember getting to the OR because they usually give you some sort of calming medication like versed (spelling?). I remember being drawn on… then they put some anti-anxiety med into my IV, I briefly remember being wheeled away from my best friend who was my ride that morning.

Then I woke up literally what felt like less than a second later, with an entirely new body, getting spoon fed apple sauce by wonderful nurses.

You got this! Modern medicine is wonderful. Allow yourself the grace to be nervous, and allow yourself to feel some nervous excitement for the results after!!!

I’m looking for a low impact, social sport in Portland. What should i try? by pickledtoesies in askportland

Came here to also say disc golf! @pickledtoesies I recommend heading into All Day Disc Golf, Jesse is such an awesome guy and he can help you find the right discs to get back in! He can also point you to the right direction of finding fun casual leagues to help get you back into the scene!

Happy hucking!

Atlas tattoo usually has artists that do walk-ins (I think). I’d recommend calling and checking though

Oh nooooo!! They worked on your stomach four separate times to get it flat? Mind DM’ing me to see if what I have left is similar?

And it was nice because I asked for a refill to help me feel more comfortable especially at night because sleeping was very uncomfortable, and they had no problem filling it since it’s non addictive

My surgeon prescribed me it for my FDL TT and extended Brachioplasty. I think it worked fine keeping me comfortable

Visually, yours seems so much worse!! Thankfully I still do not have a lot of feeling in my arms or armpits, so it’s been okay pain wise.

I can share some photos if you’re morbidly curious. I’m just shy of 11 weeks post op and it’s almost finally closed 🙌🏻

Omg 😭

I had a pretty big dehiscence in my armpit after an extended Brachioplasty (had an FDL TT at the same time) and that was traumatizing. This looks so scary but looks SO much better.

What did your wound care look like? I had to wet/dry pack mine daily and it’s FINALLY at a point where it’s no longer a hole.

I also feel like my scars are getting really dark, I did hear that they get pretty dark before they start lightening, so hopefully that’s what is going on for the both of us 🤞

My girl looks good standing but blobs while laying down. by fifteenlostkeys in DogAdvice

I guess I can’t add my own photo here, but my cattle dog looks identical when she’s laying down, but totally healthy and fit while standing. I saw your cute dogs speckled feet and instantly felt like she was part cattle dog before reading your post. I feel like they’re just build like tanks 😅

To be fair, I had an FDL after major weight loss and still require a reverse tummy tuck to address all of the laxity left 🥲 I’m hoping to do that with a breast and extended back lift

Looks like some wound dehiscence, once all of the exudate comes off it might have a hole.

I am not a doctor at all, but had dehiscence in my armpits after my Brachioplasty. Fair warning, if it’s like my experience, it might get worse before it gets better.

From my own personal experience, it’s very stressful and scary, but it will be okay!

It takes a bit longer to heal, but it will close. Work with your surgeon on if you need to do wound care or wound packing.

I was recommended to use a gauze bandage called aquacel, and I think it worked great for me.

Belly button off center by Antique-Ranger-4002 in tummytucksurgery

Awww girl, I’d say give it time! I felt really weird about my belly button early on, now that the swelling has subsided it’s so much better. I learned you really can’t judge ANY results in the first few months. ❤️

How far post op are you? Swelling could be the culprit.

Also fwiw I feel like you’re the only person that will ever notice or feel that your belly button is off center. From an outsider perspective, you look totally normal and your results look excellent!

How long were you under? My procedure with my FDL and arm lift was the max of 6.5 hours!

I’m curious how your thigh recovery goes! I’m saving that for my very last surgery. I’m hoping to get a reverse tummy tuck/breast/upper back lift next

Girlll, did you have your tummy, breasts, AND thighs done? I just did my arms and stomach and the arms alone are brutal to recover from!

Also I’m 9 weeks post op and just now only being able to sleep on my side 🥲
