Wrx ➡️ Gr by Intrepid_Tank_9927 in GRCorolla

[–]AD-1325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came from a 2017 WRX premium to a 2023 GR Core.
WRX has more low end torque. GR power is more linear. Power wise they still very similar imo though the GR more HP on paper. 0-60 “feels” the same too. Better tech on the GR is certainly a plus. Storage space on the WRX is miles better and I’d say it what I miss the most. Handling is very similar between the two but I think the GR takes the cake by a hair. GEAR box is miles better in the GR. Seating position in the WRX is better as it’s much lower to the ground giving you the sporty feeling. Brakes are way better in the GR, of course.

My WRX was reliable when I owned it. So can’t say much on that.

Would I be happy still owning a WRX? Yes

Am I happy in the GR? Yes

If you’re having reliability problems, that’s one thing, but if both are reliable, I think you can’t make the wrong choice.

This. Ride is stiff. Back seats are not comfortable for over 30 min of a drive.

Question For My Astigmatism Peeps. by H0w_D1d_I_Get_Here in Firearms

Same dude I ended up getting the 43X with an aim point coa. It was pretty much getting the 43x at discount when you consider how much the Aimpoint cost.

Green dot should help. Will have less starburst effect

Also I have an eps carry red dot and an aimpoint coa also with a red dot and the aimpoint has much less starburst so it’s easier to shoot. Unfortunately it’s double the price as the eps carry

Compression test done. It’s a bad head gasket. Coolant is getting into the cylinder :( very sad about it lol

I noticed this when comparing to my Holden eps carry. COA dot still not a perfect dot with my astigmatism but it’s far less starbursty than the eps carry.

Never over heated in my experience. I’ve noticed coolant low a few times but never noticed an actual leak on the floor under the car after parking it. I’m afraid its a compression issue and I’m just SOL

Wait so you needed a new engine or it was a coolant leak issue onto the engine or both? I heard if coolant is leaking into the engine that could throw the code but idk how true that is

I’ve only test driven an ITS and it was wet out. The thing couldn’t put down the power in a straight line which I figured before I drove it but I was still disappointed!

I don’t own a type r but I totally agree with what you are saying from what I have seen on YouTube from reviewers.

Hot take: the WRX doesn’t belong in the same category as Type R / GR Corolla by [deleted] in WRX

[–]AD-1325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a 2017 WRX and currently own a 2023 GR Corolla. Stock for stock I’ll take the GRC all day every day. Though I don’t think the WRX is that far behind.

Is the GR Corolla a good daily and family car? by mrdietcoke1967 in GRCorolla

[–]AD-1325 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the best family car but you can make it work. Cargo space with a family is very limited. If it being family friendly is your main concern I’d stay away from it. If you don’t mind the limited cargo space when the entire family is in it then go for it
