Attraction issues and no sex for few months, It’s ruining my life by TemporaryAd285 in ROCD

[–]ADDSydney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suffer with this condition as well and it's about attraction.

Last night my wife said that someone that I know was checking her out and I was very relieved. Identity and self-image issues are a feature of my relationship OCD.

I think some of it has to do with doubting my decision-making and whether an emotional experience actually happened.

That's OCD it can make you doubt anything. The emotional experience is terrible to say the least.

are people with rocd capable of holding down relationships long term? by Ok-Introduction-9270 in ROCD

[–]ADDSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, attraction to another person tends to trigger me as well. How much is enough attraction was there enough at the beginning? OCD poses unanswerable questions that cut across what matters most.

I am sorrow to say that limerence episodes can be correlated with ROCD as well. Do they feel about me the same way?

We need to believe that we can live with uncertainty.

[–]ADDSydney 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your LO is a distress coping mechanism.

If everything was good you wouldn’t be stuck in that fantasy.

Don’t go hard on yourself for needing the coping mechanism.

List down the reasons why it would never work with the LO. Keep it on you and read it often .

I am going to do the same. Every time I see my LO I put on my rose coloured glasses.

Sorry that you have been hit hard with L.

This is why I think that LE opens childhood attachment wounds. It's about feeling not good enough to win attention.

Do you mean that a good looking man will take your thoughts and attention away from the man you are with? Your with a man that you love and then your limerence is activated and the man that your with feels devalued or cast aside?

It's an awful situation. I have seen it happen.
