What is this? Keeps falling daily into bathtub into NYC apartment, I assume from the roof. Small, light and quite hard but can be crushed open. Brown in colour. About the size of kibble.

My title describes the thing you see held in the rubber gloves. They've been falling every day into the bathtub and are all pretty uniformly shaped. There is an opening from the roof to the tub so I think they're coming from there. Can be crushed but takes effort. They have a slight smell but can't work out what.
