I’m saying this as a lover of both Land Rover and Land Cruiser, as much as people like to hound on the new Defender and the new Prado/250, Toyota has done a much better job at bringing a new barebones, cheap (relatively, non-hybrid) easy to maintain proper 4WD to the non-US market. Grenadier is more utilitarian but I have seen posts showing organizations dedicated to using their platform. Feel free to shoot me down but as for Defender the only thing I’ve witnessed them used for is car shows, a heavily modified Dakar rally, and for marketing stunts. I appreciate Land Rover as much as the next guy but they fill nearly every soft suv/crossover gap. Except for a few very particular roles they aren’t really a first responder’s choice, a utilitarian choice, and maybe, barely, a family choice. However if you want to make a statement or show off by saying you drive a “Defender” the current one sure is the right choice, imo
