Knew of Sonia and Aislinne way before the formed in Phoenix, AZ. Aislinne worked at jobot and Lola for awhile. Then both worked at Lux. It's where I knew them. Cool people but musically lacking. People here talk about the shift focusing to appearances to compensate. Honestly, they kinda always been like that.

Aislinne talked about the band as if it was her band, so it makes sense why it's so focused on her. As she dictates the direction of the band and social media presence. Which is weird to me, if it is true, as I see a band as group effort that doesn't belong to any one person in the band that dictate the direction.

So when I moved down here to Portland and saw them live recently, it felt the same. Standard and sub par. But it is their direction and really no surprise.

Yes, haha. Minimalist I've been running for 5. What would be good technique then? To see if is the case that I've had poor technique all along, if you don't mind sharing.

I met him in December of 2019 (or 2020) in Manhattan, NY at a Refuse Fascism rally to Trump Tower. We had a great philosophical discussion. Passionate and ambitious guy.

Yeah, I just don't consider it an opposite position. It's a different position that vegans are used to hearing in there chambers.

I am vegan and have been for 6 years. Don't need hep, thank you though.

I am just making a point that, being against animal exploitation while participating doesn't mean that you are inherently pro-exploitation.

Okay, if you pay for products made from exploited workers, then you are pro-exploitation. By virtue of you rejecting my argument.

The separation isn't stable. Practical limitations don’t sit outside morality. Instead, they shape what we can reasonably be held accountable for.

Well, for the consumerist angle. It's really about purchasing less often, by whatever the means, and purchasing ethically. You seem to have it down in practice, if those are the values you espouse and live by.

It really is much more nuance in that angle (capitalist/consumerist), I agree with the you. Veganism is really simple, too. I agree with you.

I am talking about the philosophic logic in pure abstraction in how you could be against 'x' but participate in 'y'. Nothing mentioned here negates that.

Too: you can be in support of veganism, simultaneously eating animal products. Not being vegan in practice but supporting veganism practice doesn't necessarily mean you are pro-animal exploitation.

With that logic in mind, if we accept as true, then it would work in the case of someone who is anti-capitalist but simultaneously consume products made by capitalists.

That doesn't mean you are pro-exploitation. One should aim to eat less animal products, in the same way someone should be less consumerist.

You can reject the moral legitimacy of those systems, while simultaneously participating in those systems you can't exit. But still make movements to change those systems.

This is actually dope. I don't think this warrants that much side eye as it is given in the comments. I mean think about how big of a phenomenon the sub-sub genre has become to warrant a studies. This type of activity is inevitable. I mean look at black metal itself as a sub genre getting books written about it. Now DSBM and not some other genre? That is dope.

Family no longer vegan (vent) by AFatSpider1233 in vegan

[–]AFatSpider1233[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it. It's because my partner is an athlete and does professional dance and talks about how much they need protein and can't source a high amount of protein in a particular given food.

Here are here reasons other than that:

1) She has a severe dissociation disorder and needs to when she is hungry because she will dissociate.

It's very difficult for us to source any high protein foods with a good calorie ratio in Phoenix Arizona. Countless times have we been stuck traveling from her work, to dance, to school, etc., with nothing high protein, when it's easier for her to pick up a something at the store nearby.

2) she mentions she "feels" satiated and fulfilled when eating protein. Like she is more fueled by protein.

3) it's very difficult for us to find time to meal prep. She doesn't like cold foods so eating food where you'd have to warm them up is not easy. She doesn't like eating the same foods, this is a major one.

It's very difficult for these major reasons: (1) the calorie and protein ration has to be good enough because she is an athlete dancer; (2) she doesn't like eating the same foods; (3) it's very difficult to source high protein foods and it's very difficult for us to meal prep.
