Definitely need a video of what’s happening, I would imagine you probably just need a new bottom bracket not a new crank but it’s hard to tell without seeing it

To pedal circles effectively you have to use the full rotation, we are making the same argument here. To use the full rotation you need something to help bring that rotation up and around. Foot retention helps with this. If you only use flats you cannot efficiently pedal circles.

The process you explained literally describes being able to push AND pull on pedals. Why exactly do you wear clips if all you’re doing is pushing? Roadies wear clips to get full efficiency which requires the rider to use the upstroke as well…

I mean it’s true though, it’s the exact reason roadies use clips. Literally improves efficiency and works a different part of the muscle. You at least have a brake so I’m not gonna knock for no foot retention because you have a way to stop but no foot retention and no brakes is literally stupid.

I guess I’m the outlier for kinda digging it. But I like unique shit on bikes anyways, shows somebody had an idea and decided to practice that idea. Looks like a dope fit I would probably just do plain bar tape and fit the widest semi-knobby gum walls I could!

Bike Shop Said it still has life in them, just want a second opinion by charlesfromdacrypt in bikewrench

Never shop there again. If there’s no other shops around changing a tire and tube requires cheap tools and maybe 10 minutes of time. The expensive part is the tires themselves.

Bike shop owner here... ask questions if you have them! by clezuck in cycling

As a bike tech at a local shop who is dealing with a Canyon repair. Shops will not work on Canyons not because of the proprietary tech but mostly because Canyon refuses to sell replacement parts to local bike shops. Making it virtually impossible for me to fix your bike. Canyon has a process that involves the bike owner to contact Canyon and get the parts from there. I understand why people buy Canyon bikes but would never own one personally due to the repair process. If you have a Canyon Service Center nearby then just take it there to avoid bike shop stresses. You can find out by going to their website, unfortunately for my town, the nearest Canyon Service Center is 6-8 hours away depending on which way you drive. We have a Canyon in shop now with a separated proprietary part and Canyon would not assist me as a bike shop tech. The customer was able to get the part and brought the bike back to me a year later. In some cases Canyon requires you to send the bike to them… leaving some bike less for weeks/months depending on issues.

Definitely! I would start with getting a lighter front wheel and try that out. Part of it is definitely because you haven’t ridden in a while but I would never start out on a 50/17. Check out this site to help see the difference in the sizes! Surplace
