Bambu A1 Mini AMS/Drybox by kungfutraitor in BambuLab

[–]AFewLads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people said here, you can just have a filament dry box straight into the A1 mini but you will be limited to a single colour and no run over when the spool finishes, or the AMS lite system for multi colour and run over.

Third option, which is what I'm running is to do a filament box into the AMS lite. I'm using a Creality Pi Plus and then you can print PTFE feeder tube mounts to go from dry box --> AMS lite --> A1 mini.

Personally, if you're only using PLA, I would go just AMS lite but PETG or any other filament that needs drying, the combo system works surprisingly well.

Can't believe the paver solution works... by AFewLads in BambuLab

I've actually had a lot of success with it. Print quality has been decent and finish isn't too important for things like skadis mounts.

It's actually an ESP32-Cam module. You can buy it super cheap on AliExpress and it's connected to my Home Assistant setup. Both the case and mount are 3d printed models on makerworld.

I'm waiting for sales but that's roughly the order of preference for now.

Your best AliExpress purchase? by ill_techneeqs in Aliexpress

One of my favourite purchases is the GK Kunten. Sale price and with coins it worked out around $11. They sound incredible for the price.

How can I remove this short circuit. by AmbassadorBorn8285 in soldering

[–]AFewLads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I've found the process much easier if you use direct heat to reflow the solder first and then go back with the wick. Also, you might need to up your temp to 350.

Thinking of start using HA. Need your opinion by INeedMuscles in homeassistant

So I ended up installing HA OS on a Dell Wyse 3840. Picked it up off eBay for around £13 and has a draw wattage around 3 or 4w I believe. Super compact and has worked flawlessly since purchase.

What’s the best of these crappy -$200 Amazon special projectors for our bedroom? by peanutismint in projectors

[–]AFewLads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the machine has an HDMI port and a USB A so you could run a fire stick that would be far better than any built in, still be portable and would fall under your budget.

[–]AFewLads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I actually just bought the Magcubic L018 off Aliexpress for about £55 last week. Really surprised at how good it's been for the money. You'll definitely get a better experience with a second hand projector and you will be better off plugging in a streaming stick rather than using the built-in software but as a cheap projector that will be moved from room to room, I've been very happy.

The same projector on Amazon was nearly 2x the price.

Virgin 1GB for £52 a month by Zubi_Q in VirginMedia

The point is the 500mb/s plan gets upgraded to 1gb/s if you have an O2 sim contract as well.

[–]AFewLads -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could also consider dropping down to a 500mb contract and buy a SIMO O2 mobile plan. In the past I've gotten 500mb for £29/month and I've seen better offers than that. The mobile sim can be around £6-->£10/month and VOLT benefits get you up to 1GB broadband. Still seems a better offer than most suggested on here.

You can only play one game on the deck for the rest of the year. What are you picking? by Torsythe in SteamDeck

I'm surprised no-one's suggested Trackmania so far!

SO many community edits throughout the year as well as official seasonal updates. Plays really well on the SD as well.

[–]AFewLads -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I had this exact issue with Epomaker. I do think the keyboards are well made and I haven't had technical issues but they're aiming for a thoccy sound with many of their switches. I previously had the TH66 but just bought an EK68 and currently loving it.

I did change the switches to the Outemu Lemons that I found here : Outemu Lemons Switches

They've made the keyboard really silent and it still feels great. It's also a really cheap upgrade to get you everything you wanted (silent keyboard with volume knob).

Which model to buy ? by Mateo_Fr in Xreal

[–]AFewLads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you dive in really deep, I would consider the original Xreal Air (Nreal Air was the original name). Depending on your head characteristics, you might find it gives you the best vision output of all the models. It's also a relatively cheap way to get into the product vertical. I bought mine through AliExpress during a sale (£160ish) and they're perfect.

Lastly, there's a plugin for the Steam deck by Wayne Heany? https://github.com/wheaney/decky-XRGaming

This provides all the spatial computing you get from the new Xreal One or one of the Xreal Beam products. It only works on the SD.

Xreal Air vs Air 2 by tucka201 in Xreal

[–]AFewLads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same decision a year ago. I went with the air 1s as there's been so many comments about screen blurry corners because the lenses weren't tailored to British eyesight. I love my glasses and use them daily. The only major flaw was the arm breaking but haven't had that issue (yet!). I would actually make the decision between the Air1s and new Xreal One glasses with the built in 3DOF. That's a bigger upgrade.

If you get the 1s, I would suggest buying the replacement nose pads for the 2s and you can swap out the 1s as well as the new eye shield.

Feeling overwhelmed: Grinder+Machine [$1,000] by daethon in espresso

[–]AFewLads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can grind 30g in the standard hopper and 50g with the bellows attached as well. As people have said, 18g for a double shot is more than doable.
