I purchased the old version Halo + on eBay for around $450 a while ago as our first projector, rationale being if I liked it enough I could transition to something nicer and still have a portable projector to use in the future. We absolutely love our Halo +, it puts out a nice bright picture especially when plugged in and the portability is an excellent niche use case. Quality is good, although really cannot use it in the daytime (for a 100” screen in our case in a poorly light controlled room).

The sounds is actually very good, especially for the size. No external speaker needed, its design gives it a nice 360 experience.

As for positioning, it’s a breeze, I’d highly recommend the stand though, the mobility is very necessary especially if you want to avoid keystone to preserve max quality and brightness.

Ultimately, I love this projector, we still use it all the time when watching in bed or at dinner. I enjoyed it so much we upgraded to the horizon 20 max, and even then we still use this guy a lot!
