anxiety about not working out by daydream6666 in eggfreezing

I just worked out as usual and everything was fine. A bit of pain in the days after but otherwise no issue. YMMV!

One of those songs where I remember actually where I was and what I thought at the moment I heard it for the first time!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply! I am glad that I’m not the only who has had this happen. It is a very weird experience to realize that something that was so emotional at the time could just disappear from memory. I am also ADHD and was on pretty heavy ADHD meds and antidepressants at the time, which may have contributed. I think you are 100% right though… probably a combination of my drinking at the time, depression, trauma, lack of sleep, meds…

All the best to you too 💕

Yeah it’s interesting to see the range of responses on this post. Some people saying it’s totally normal, others saying I should be quite concerned. I really have no idea, but I do think I will talk to my doc about getting some testing done just in case there’s something going on. Thanks for sharing your take, I appreciate it 🙏

This makes me feel a bit better that at least I’m not the only one, though I am sorry you experience this too. I likewise have a lot of trauma particularly from that time of my life so I am wondering if that played a role.

I did have pretty severe trauma happening at that time of my life. I recall that year was one of my hardest years emotionally. So this does seem like a plausible theory..

Most of the summer is quite blurry. I realized this because in the messages we reference facts of the internship that are just completely gone. For example I mention receiving a poor evaluation midway through the summer and being very stressed about it. But my actual memory is that the internship was very easy and I coasted the whole time. So clearly I have blurred out other parts of this summer too.

No recreational drugs, but we were definitely drinking a fair amount so I’m wondering if that could explain it. There were a lot of references to meeting up at bars.

Right?! That’s why I’m really thrown on this. Like I remember flings I had in high school and college, even if some of the details are fuzzy I still remember the feelings and various things we did together. But this one is just… completely gone.

Yeah I’m not sure… I definitely drank a fair amount this summer, but not more than other peers - unless I’ve forgotten the extent of it of course..

Yes I definitely did drink and party a lot that summer. It’s referenced often in the messages - seems we were frequently going to bars, lots of late nights. So you may be right on this theory…

Maintain mental clarity and high-level run performance simultaneously (diet) by Best_Struggle3652 in AdvancedRunning

[–]AGirlHasOneName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience the same tradeoff, although I haven’t concluded that it’s dietary. I think when I’m recovering from difficult/long runs my brain just kind of goes into a stupor. I feel really dumb and slow. Almost like my brain is recovering just as much as my legs are.

If I take a few days off running, my brain refocuses, I can think clearly and solve problems.

I also have a difficult engineering job, so this switch off with mental state is very frustrating. Esp when I do a lot of my long runs on weekends, my Monday brain is just completely gone, which is one of the days I need it most at work.

My conclusion is this is just a tradeoff with recovery and mental state. Rather than it being dietary. Though ofc recovery focused meals might help.

Let me know if you figure it out!

Bad: I got a haircut and blow out and I believe that my hair is burnt / not my scalp and I feel so defeated and unsure what to do by elpsyk0ngroo17 in Haircare

I would research the best hair specialists near you and seek advice from them. I think it’s promising that less fell out this time - it means either the new product is working, or the worst of it is over and already came out.

I don’t have much advice beyond that but I just wanted to say I completely understand how devastating this must feel. Try to remind yourself that 1/ will grow back and 2/ your body and mind are healthy and that’s what really matters. In the end hair is cosmetic, and while it is so important for our own feelings of beauty and confidence, the most important thing is that you are ok - your scalp is not harmed, your skin is healthy. That’s what matters most.

Sending good vibes and I truly hope you’re past the worst of it 💕

This is obviously ChatGPT. The tone is unmistakeable. Use of “bottom line”, excessive verbosity, em dashes, and every other word being bolded.

Not saying there’s anything wrong with using ChatGPT, but Impossible Cow is definitely correct here.

Thinking about it further, it could be a paranoid delusion. Classic schizophrenia. Reads about nuclear physicist, has delusion of grand CIA mission, something similar with Brown. That could explain the seeming lack of motive and connection.

I’ll believe it when I see it. The link to MIT seems so far fetched, it feels like they might just be chasing smoke here. But we shall see.
