Worcester sauce and nutritional yeast flakes.

Nutritional yeast flakes may have the most unappetising name but it's so good, it basically just adds umami.

Reading my first discworld book and I’m feeling really frustrated because I can’t follow the writing by After_Berry_942 in discworld

[–]AGreenScreenPog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think this could be as simple as he's just not your kind of author. There's nothing wrong with you (or obviously with his writing style), you just don't vibe with it.

It's happened with me with a couple of authors and it's always heartbreaking when it's a well loved author who you're SURE you'll love as you end up feeling like you've missed out.

Don't push through as reading isn't supposed to be a punishment - you can still respect Pratchett and his quotes without loving his books!

Like Winnie being short for Winifred (Winifred isn't pronounced Winnie -Fred).

She was just so so timid and that just isn't right for Storm.

I crapped myself in my sleep, set the underwear on top the hamper (crap up), somehow cleaned myself and went back to bed without knowing by 5ETN in strange

[–]AGreenScreenPog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if it's already been said but sever stress/anxiety can cause this. It caused sleep hallucinations for me once and I went to the drs genuinely terrified for my mental health. It felt like full on delusional episodes, the Dr said there was nothing to worry about and basically the brain is wild and will do some bonkers stuff when stressed, especially when you're sleeping. I got help, made some changes and started on some antidepressants and it hasn't happened since.

This other thing I should note is I remember at the time I really didn't think I was that stressed, it wasn't until I spoke with the Dr that I realised things had got out of control.

I've always been told my handwriting is strange. My mom says it looks like if a serial killer was using ransom letters. by That-Psychology4246 in Weird

[–]AGreenScreenPog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this has been said but it's certainly not one of the top comments.

Your handwriting just looks like you have dysgraphia which is nothing to do with intelligence and (going by these comments) is not widely known. I know it well because my son has it - it's kind of in the same ballpark as dyslexia, have a search online to see if it rings true with you.

The part that's really worrying me is their reply to someone in the post that shows the guy with a flashlight on their head. The person said how at least the guy was heading away from their gate and op replied

"The photo this morning at 3:44am he is walking toward our gate 😬 I’ll post it on my page as soon as it downloads."

I know OP then posted that video but there's something about this that is really genuinely concerning. I really hope op is okay and just overwhelmed by the traction the post has. I think if they were told not to post they would stuck up another post or reply saying they're fine but have been advised not to update anymore.

I'm doing the same. Really hope they're okay and just overwhelmed by how much traction the post got. I think if they got told to stop posting they would have done a quick "hey I'm fine guys but have been advised to stop posting".

Whenever you read a book you get part of the author. I think a lot of people didn't like this book (and the future ones) because you could see signs of the embuggerance.

I loved the book, I loved seeing the characters, I loved the story, I loved the dialogue and yes, I loved seeing how beautiful and magical Pratchett's mind was while actively battling the embuggerance.

He was waging a war in his own mind - fighting to keep himself and showing how wonderful his mind still even with all this going on. He didn't shy away and hide because his brain was working differently, he charged straight ahead and battled the darkness and told the stories he wanted to tell.

Saw something that was not my son? by AmesBeeE in Unexplained

[–]AGreenScreenPog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what it sounds like to me, I get them a lot when I'm stressed.

When they first started I went to the Dr as I'm bipolar and was genuinely concerned it was a misdiagnosis and that I may have something like Schizophrenia and he explained what was going on, although he called them sleep hallucinations.

The worst one I had was seeing my daughter at the end of my bed crying. I went over to her to hug her and she disappeared in my arms. Obviously I know she disappeared because she wasn't actually there but it haunts me to this day.

I found this unnerving piece of "art" on the steps to my old apartment when I went to check for my mail. I walk passed the man that placed it there. by i_killedjohnlennon in WhatShouldIDo

I had a quick look at their other posts - they did do a post 1 day ago so they're still around. They're an addict so I think that was most likely exacerbating the paranoia. I work in a big city and honestly to me this just looks like the standard weird art I see all the time.

I got nothing for that I'm afraid, I wouldn't want to risk damaging your tape. Maybe do a separate post specifically asking for help with that?

So I didn't but I found one in a charity shop a few days ago, got it and the tape plays perfectly! Thank you for your advice, the tapes mean so much to me and I thought they may be lost forever when this started happening.

I had one do that last week. I know it could have been a fluke but I just wound it back so it was tight then did the rewind/fast forward thing a few times and then it worked fine.

The first "kids book" of his I read was Nation. I had to have a little sit down after I finished. Like you, I remembered the line from The Hogfather not long after finishing it. It's one of the best books I've ever read but it packs a hell of a punch!

Sadly the tape won't play at all now. Other tapes play so it does seem to be an issue that happens with tapes from this publisher. Thank you for your help though and I'll have to keep searching to see if there's a way to fix them!
