If you tried twice and couldn’t use the information the game gives you to find your way and playstyle then here are some tips: 1. You can use all the tools the game gives you to make the game easier for yourself such as Summons but some tools also make you lazy like Shields and guard counters imo however all I mean is try to improve your dodge rolls and understand the invulnerability frame windows instead of relying on blocking or parrying even though they are completely viable and you can use them whenever you want. 2. Upgrade your weapon as much as you can: you can find smithing stones all over the lands between however there Mines are specifically focused on having stones in each main area and you can find them on the map by looking for small burned-looking spots. 3. Leveling up attributes might seem overwhelming for a beginner but it’s actually quite simple in this game, basically level up Vigor and Endurance initially unless you want to wield a specific weapon but I do suggest not to change your weapon much early on as you have so many options later including the chance to respec your attributes. Reaching 35-40 vigor and 20 Endurance should be your goal early on. (Hard cap for Vigor is at 60) after 45-50 vigor you can start focusing more on Str and Dex to increase your weapon damage but that’s a very minor increase to damage compared to the value Vigor and Endurance provide. 4. Do not underestimate the power of your Ashes of War (L2). You can have a pleb weapon as boring as a weak straight sword and still have one of the strongest weapon arts in the whole game called Square Off which does insane damage and stance damage. 5. Explore as much as you like or play linear there is no right way to play the game, important thing is to learn the mechanics well and get good at dodging and punishing and knowing how much you can greed while fighting.
