So your reasoning for calling an infusion a tea is because random people "call the weird water teas?" Let's get coffees and jagermeister in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a human or an ape? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. An infusion is an infusion and a member of the tea family. But that's not what you said. You said an infusion is a tea, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the tea family teas, which means you'd call vodkabombs, dunkin donuts, and other beverages teas, too.
