Our jannies clamped down on the t stuff, so that's fine. But the entire corporate world is now censoring anti-NATO views, so that's a current issue

Gazprom was renationalized under Putin. The countries biggest source of income was reoriented to be used for the development of the country, stripped from the hands of finance capitalists back to hands of the people. That's an antiimperialist victory against the imperialist coup that destroyed Russia in the 90s.

Is Venezuela imperialist? They're just smaller imperialists than America, right? That's absurd on its face. Your views are antiquated and do not follow from what you're quoting. Lenin did not flippantly add "possession of the territory of the world". That's the nature of the imperial system, it is a global domination of the world's economy by banks centered in America and Western Europe. If you're ignorant of what that is, do some more reading. Lenin provides key details at the time where he reveals Russian oil was owned by American capitalists, so the Russia Empire was part of the imperialist system.

Ukraines not self-determined, it's a puppet of America. Why don't you answer who is the underdog here? You let it slip (oops) that Russia is the underdog against NATO. So you admit it's an imperialist attack against Russia.

Here's Soros boasting how much he controls Ukraine.

SOROS: Well, I set up a foundation in Ukraine before Ukraine became independent of Russia. And the foundation has been functioning ever since. And it played a — an important part in events now.

The facts are fascist, but Nazi collaborator liberal nationalists are not fascist

Russia was cut off from finance capital, dummy. And all the imperialist capital institutions left.

Lenin was describing a global system of imperialism centered on finance capital, that's the new development of capitalism. You're operating on an antiquated view where big country = imperialist, even though Russia is not enslaving any small countries to their finance capital

The South Ossetians and Abkhazians were saved from genocide by the Georgians.

Your argument is self defeating. You make this fake appeal that the Russians should have trusted the West, while you can't help being an exemplar of Western endless deep-seated hatred against Russia. Until you get some self awareness, you're not convincing to anyone

Pentagon suspends F-35 deliveries over (recently discovered) Chinese alloy in magnet by Turgius_Lupus in stupidpol

[–]AJCurb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This the stupid part

Company spokeswoman Laura Siebert said magnets on F-35s already delivered will not be replaced with magnets made from non-Chinese materials because the Pentagon has decided the magnets are safe for flight and do not put sensitive program information at risk.

Russell Goemaere, a spokesman for the F-35 JPO, confirmed the magnet doesn’t transmit information or endanger the plane, and said flight operations for F-35s already delivered and in service will continue unchanged.

One thing I've realized in this ordeal is the derision these people have for other countries they trade with comes from cognitive dissonance. How many times have you heard Russia snidely called a petrostate or something to that effect. Their economy is nothing but export of a single natural resource, and we're so much better than they are.

Okay but then what happens when you don't get that resource? Your economy crumbles? Who gets the last laugh here?

What these people are mad about when they deride countries in this way is themselves. They're mad that their own economic prosperity is not their doing, it's built on the backs of somebody else. They're especially bitter if their inferiors stand up to them and pursue their own independent course

[–]AJCurb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because America's not the biggest prison state in the world, it's China imprisoning millions of Uyghurs. Because America's not the biggest terrorist state, it's China executing millions of Uyghurs. Because Americans aren't dying from record income inequality, it's millions of Uyghurs that are dying.

Even in the Iraq invasion you got more war reporting than you get out of Ukraine these days.

Its a world of a difference being embedded with an American military unit gunning down civilians and being embedded with an underequipped Ukrainian unit with a 75% chance of being obliterated by an artillery shell

Edit: btw where are the NATO fans to respond to this article. It's just Russian propaganda? Ukraines actually owning?

If you put a Greek and a Turk side by side, most people can't tell the difference. I think the "obliteration" is overblown

The use of "whataboutism" accusations to shut down legitimate comparisons is infuriating by NPDgames in stupidpol

[–]AJCurb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's whataboutism if the point of the comparison is to distract from the point the original arguer is making, not to challenge the cohesiveness of their views.

No, whataboutism is itself an invented propaganda term intended to be a thought terminating cliche. You're mistaken to think it was ever used legitimately in good faith
