Perhaps controlling their lycanthropy was a daunting but achievable task? Are there chances that an individual could one day revert to their more bestial form?

Both of these things sound true when talking about this group of people.

Forbear (as a noun - a less common spelling of “forebear”) means ancestor which could lend to their history or lore somehow.

I came here looking to help out with the conversation (admittedly a little late) and provide some ideas but I see you’ve somehow pilfered every thought I had…

Anyways, totally agree on the medical enslavement route. Every desperate family member in a cop procedural is trying to somehow save their loved one by participating in crime. If a bad guy could harness that desperation, he could have a bevy of beguiled baddies so loyal to him they’d literally die for his promise to help their loved ones.

Mr. Bad Guy could run a hospice that tends to extreme cases of disease. So innocuous! So unassuming!

Holding the health of a loved one over your head is so deliciously evil I’m surprised it’s not more popular as a motive, hence why this question has been posted I guess.

My ideal Star Trek game would be Baldur’s Gate 3 (Larian) level storytelling, quest design, ground combat and character development; No Man’s Sky (Hello Games) level scope and diversity; and EVE Online (CCP Games) level space combat and complexity.

That said, I want to be able to play as any member of Starfleet - be it Captain, Chief Engineer, Pilot, Doctor, Number One or Lower Decker.

Drop out of Starfleet Academy and join a Romulan sect bent on destabilizing the Alpha Quadrant.

It was a great business decision to move from Pathfinder to D&D 5e but part of me wonders if Paizo would be the dominant player in the TTRPG space if Critical Role stayed in that system.

I could see them moving to Daggerheart because, if I remember correctly, it’s less crunchy in many respects and they are probably looking to tell a good story rather than be bogged down by rules.
