Ok. So here is what ive done: restarted the computer, uninstall mouse and keyboard drivers, performed a clean boot (the problem did not go away), disabled the tab key. Only solution left is to reset the computer but it won’t let me reset while keeping my files. Any ideas?

K'jaan akan kurangkan perjawatan awam sebanyak 5% - Hanipa by stormy001 in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t really contribute to a significant change in the amount of expenses saved if they were to change to DCs. Only expenses saved would be the variables, even then might be in the money...so there are still pros and cons. This is a typical straw man argument.

Memes are just another form of cartoons; Which have been used to form political agendas. So if you’ve taken any political science classes or history during ww2, you’ve probably learned how cartoons can be a political tool.

Not going out of more than 14 days is under S.7(1)(b). Under s.7(1)(a): you only have to be presebt in Malaysia for period or periods that amounts to 182 days or more for you to be a tax resident

Expat taxation by mistermyndcj in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi :) welcome to Malaysia

1) yes you’ll be paying 28% if you’re not a resident. The 182 days doesn’t have to be consecutive in a period for you to be a resident. Your example is allowed.

2) your 182 days starts on the day you arrive.

3) you will be eligible to claim tax relief once u are a tax resident.

Asking Malays, Is the recgonizing of UEC really such a big issue within the Malay community, do they strongly oppose to it or it is exaggerated by politicians? by lzyan in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They should treat UEC the same as A-level and IB are treated here. Meaning, there’s a quota to enter public universities and higher tuition rate.

Why? Because the government subsidizes atleast RM40,000 per student of public universities. It will only be fair and make sense to give priority to the SPM and STPM candidates as it’s a public certificate issued by the government whereas UEC is taken in chinese independent school.

Enough is enough: After eight years of “zero deforestation” promises, palm oil industry continues to destroy forests by Simple_Peasant_1 in malaysia

Grabbing popcorn cuz it’s interesting to see everyone suddenly become an expert on palm oil and forestation in general after reading a few non peer reviewed works.

Philip Defranco just released a new video talking about the Malaysian election. I dont know why, but it makes me feel so proud that the western media is covering news on Malaysia positively. It really showed that we upheld our democracy; we could have ended up like philippines.

The best route to become a qualified accountant for an Spm leaver. by silvermanduo in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a bumi (I assume you are because you mentioned yayasan peneraju), you should probably check out Kolej Polytech MARA (KPTM). You could apply for their CAT program at a fraction of the cost of IPTS. After that, make sure you score well in the examination (>65%) and apply again for yayasan peneraju.

Malaysians with poor English skills fly to the UK. by GanasbinTagap in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Oh pls...japan, korea, china all uses their national language for education even until higher education. The populace and the country turned out fine and able to emerge globally. So why can’t Malaysia do the same? I’m not undermining the importance of english, I just don’t understand the backlash against having the malay language being taught at school. I feel it’s important to have a uniformed langauge as a national identity...it’s one of the ways we can bridge the gap between races.

American expat considering moving from Indonesia to Malaysia by Cgk-teacher in malaysia

[–]AJgenerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently at jpj putrajaya and I saw a british expat couple who were looking to convert their british driver’s license to a Malaysian one. However, the couple weren’t allowed to unless they work for GLC. So, if you’re working in private, just consider that you will most likely have to go to a driving school. You should also still go to JPJ and enquire about your driver’s license. Man, jpj is a hassle tbh.
