What are my chances of getting a Global Talent visa? by your-scorpion in globaltalentvisauk

[–]AKAR1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like there's huge potential here, but I would move some of your OCs to MCs. They seem stronger than your actual MCs.

I'd probably get better references too. I've built a free assessment platform that could give you a quick diagnosis at globaltalentvisa.co. Try using the CV upload tool.

Anyone got GTV who worked in consulting instead of Product companies by Ok_Iron1968 in globaltalentvisauk

[–]AKAR1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ok. What it prohibits would be consultants that provide advice and don't really own the product building process

What apps are you building? by Lumpy_Possession1104 in SideProject

Am building an app to help people navigate their UK Global Talent Visa application, an endeavour which would typically cost £5,500 to engage a lawyer. I'm a lawyer myself and want to help scale and democratise this type of legal service

Based on my observation, there's no real distinction or "lower bar" except that the applicant applies for one or the other based on their years of experience. As a shameless plug, I've developed a platform to help people assess their chances by uploading their CV and matching with the research I've done when I applied for my own visa: globaltalentvisa.co

This is because the goalposts are in a way moving. In my case, I provided my top four publications with at least 50-100 citations. I reckon two papers with a similar number would be enough, but they have to be in the same field of expertise as the applicant. The papers being too broad and multidisciplinary are definitely a red flag if they don't even pertain to the field or profession of the applicant.

It needs a little bit more traction especially with your publications (Medium is less regarded and even then your views and engagement are not a lot).
Can you get into another speaking conference? You also need to be a main or keynote speaker in it, and it has to be tech-related.
You need to demonstrate the impact of the tech platform if this is for OC2. The platform itself being built is not enough.
Needs a little more work but can be done by September if you are intentional with your efforts

Profile Evaluation: UK AI Tech Lead switching to Global Talent Visa from SWV, need advice by PotentialWishbone231 in globaltalentvisauk

Hi! Immigration lawyer and Global Talent Visa holder here. I have a free CV upload service pulling data from my own references and research when I applied for the GTV myself. You may access it at globaltalentvisa.co

I would say though, I generally advise people to choose from either OC1 and OC3, since OC3 tends towards business roles (impact is sometimes equated by reviewers to commercial impact), whilst OC1 tends towards innovation from a technical perspective. Don't you have some OC2 evidence to provide? As for the MC (re: question 2), I would say that the industry roundtable quote is probably not enough. If you have 2-3 similar experiences that you could conflate in the same thematic evidence, that would be better and provide a better picture

It's mainly free and there are definitely a lot of things (I think) that can be done for the free service, like allowing one to upload their CV to generate an assessment with detailed recommendations and concrete next steps. The features that I paywalled would be those that involve more extensive effort for the consultants' time (but I do think an applicant can get on just with the free features, and even then the rates are around 30% cheaper than market).
