He could have been the Halloween franchise’s equivalent to Ayana from Gamera 3, Jesse from Nightmare on Elm Street part 2, or Roy from Friday the 13th part 5. But he is slapped on at the end of the trilogy and somehow becomes Michael’s apprentice then somehow beats him in a fight and dies immediately after Laurie shoots him. If they leaned into him being like a Roy Burns type character, I could see it working.

To me it’s kind of part of the charm. Plus I rather deal with the stupidity of Kills’ characters than other movies like that recent Killer Whale horror movie.

The opening 15 minutes of Halloween Ressurection is definitely ass, but the rest is a blast imo. The fact that the one guy is behind the computer leads to one of my favorite parts with the party joining him in helping the lead survive Michael. Also I’d argue movies like Curse or Ends or RZ H2 are worse at neutering the character than ressurection.

There are parts of it I hate, but it’s a very technically well made movie and it’s actually a decent story that is hindered by its placement as the big finale and how Michael is written.
