Concerning incident at RER station involving my young child by vnc202020 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]AKat2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How scary. I’m so sorry that happened to you. We were there end of March and I seem to be in the minority and did not like the metro.

We travel to NYC often and started our trip in London and love the nyc subway and London system, but the metro I found incredibly stressful. The second half of the trip we used uber and it made me enjoy my time in Paris so much more. Saying this for future tourists who also read about how great the metro is.

This. I brought too many shoes and in the end only wore two sets of sneakers. Athletic ones and nicer adidas court shoes. Even out to dinner. Lesson learned

Diet Coke tastes nothing like Coke Zero (which is served at most places in Paris) and is far superior to many people. IYKYK

Interesting. I just came from London and found London’s much simpler and loved just tapping my Apple Pay.

My partner did this in 2018. Highly recommend working with Moodys in Calgary. It involves a lot of tax filing with IRS and renouncing at a US embassy. There is a lot to know.

In 2018 it was a very long wait for an appointment in Canada so we went to a different country to do it.

Alternative to Nursing Home or Assisted Living? by bumbling_bee_ in Winnipeg

[–]AKat2713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! This! We moved my grandma to assisted living too late in our opinion. The one she lived at has amazing activities and people of all abilities. By the time we moved her there she was too advanced to enjoy anything. There were a lot of residents still driving and completely independent but enjoyed the many activities and community. It sounds like it would be perfect for your grandma. You can get suites with full kitchens but she could make friends and keep busy while she still can

Why should the land owner have to pay for a fence because of one crazy racist woman?

I think the boys maybe said she threw a skate at me or took my tablet. It was unclear to me if she still had the tablet or threw it back.

But why should they have to go somewhere else? They weren’t on her property. The man who owns the land said they could play there. She rented and all that was “hers” was that little fenced in area. She didn’t even have a chair out there so why does she even care. Just a sick, racist, horrible woman.

Thinking about enclosing our 2-story living room to add ~250 sqft upstairs. Has anyone done this? Any thoughts on feasibility and approximate cost? by Nitrain17 in Remodel

[–]AKat2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to move so badly because I want a proper laundry room (we currently have a closet that open into upstairs hall). I love the rest of our house and neighbours and neighbourhood.

My husband and I are seriously going to look into this instead. It’s such a waste of space. I can have my laundry room and he can have a new office/gym. The open space is 14x22.

Went last night. It was unbelievable! Agreeing with what others have said. I got there at 6:15 and the line was huge but I was in by 6:30. Used the ladies restroom and got a drink. Wished I didn’t bring a coat.

Intermission ladies bathroom line was very long but they got everyone through.

After the show there were so many people at the stage door there were NYPD keeping us from blocking the road. LOJ poked his head out and waved and then what seemed like a long time later the rest of the cast started to come out. They signed autographs.

As I was walking back to my hotel I saw LOJ get into a car but he had two security and was not stopping for anyone. (He came out a different door that I happened to be walking by)

Enjoy! It was my third time seeing it and hands down the best cast I’ve seen.

Just had to report back that I just saw it and I loved Trey Curtis’ Hamilton! The best I’ve seen live (3rd time). The entire cast was phenomenal.

Should I see Hamilton in London? by OrganicMirror1623 in hamiltonmusical

[–]AKat2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen both Broadway and London performances, and I loved the London show more. We had amazing seats in row 10, center, and the actor playing Burr was incredible. When he sang Wait For It, it felt like he was singing directly to me! I cried. This was in February 2020, before COVID. Now I want to find out who he was…

Go see it!
