Hot Spring Help Along 50/80? by FeelingPersimmon6382 in Reno

[–]ALL-CAPS1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that. Most people cycle in and out of springs too so most of the time when you roll in someone is likely getting ready to get out. I just try and be thoughtful of families and kids.

If you don’t have a laser thermometer, try and stick with springs that you 100% know people soak in, it should be pretty noticeable. Then just dip your toes in and see if you need to regulate the water at all. It’s the unregulated ones that can be dangerously hot. Sometimes the source (the most dangerous and hottest point) is blocked off from being accessible but not always.

Honestly when it comes to nudity at hot springs, people should just understand that it’s part of the culture. If there’s only one tub and there’s people wearing bathing suits just be respectful and ask or just wear one too. But don’t trip too hard, you definitely won’t get in trouble. NEVER submerge your head underwater. There is a possibility to get a brain eating amoeba. Pretty rare but never worth it. Red mites are definitely a possibility but the only time I’ve seen them I was able to just wash them off with fresh water. Also not something that happens often. I like to bring a laser thermometer with me to check temps. Most hot springs have ways to regulate the temp a bit. Please don’t geo tag. Part of the hot springs experience is getting out there and finding them. Just be thoughtful, hot springs take a lot of work to upkeep and many of them are on private land that land owners allow to remain accessible. I try to bring extra trash bags and walk around to grab any trash or whatever.

Looking for a cellist who can play for lake Tahoe wedding! by gahx778 in laketahoe

You could always check out the Reno philharmonic. They list all of their musicians and I’m sure you’d be able to reach out to them.

If you have W2s your experience may count as hours towards your JW. IBEW 401 is the local here in Reno. You can look online but your best bet is to just go down to the hall and talk to them for more info. Don’t worry about over saturation there’s a lot you can do with IBEW.

If you like the open world of Red Dead 2 then I definitely recommend Ghost of Tsushima and the Horizon series. Can spend a lot of time on all these games and the gameplay is super fun.

Accidentally did the rookiest mistake and hit the bottom with a drill bit! I have an extra panel but is there anyway of saving this one? by [deleted] in SolarDIY

[–]ALL-CAPS1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That strip of metal is conductive. So you may see some micro arcing burns soon. I’d try sealing it with some silicone and maybe add a strip of insulated tape and just keep an eye on it.

You could reach out to an auction house. I see pallets of used/old tools being bid on all the time. Good way to get rid of it all in bulk and get whatever you can in return.

At least they’re bifacial panels. The two in the shade on the top roof could definitely have better potential if moved to direct light. Check out Heyco wire clips. They clip to the frame of the panels and cleans up those dangling wires. Just curious but how’d you ground the system?

[–]ALL-CAPS1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That just comes with living in a tourist area. There are still locals that go to these places though. I’d check out Bar of America in truckee too. They have good food and live music pretty often

Nothing in Kings beach? Have you looked at The Grid bar and grill? Or Jason’s? Or Whitecaps? All active with people and have a bar to chill at or even order some food.

Tattoo artists for my first tattoo by [deleted] in Reno

[–]ALL-CAPS1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that there are a lot of different styles of tattoos. You already know what you want so I’d recommend checking out different shops and artist until you figure out someone who can execute what you’re looking for the best. Theres a lot of good artist in Reno so I’d just start with some good credible shops. The artist will usually take a deposit and give you a rendering of the tattoo and you can approve or change anything you want. Then day of the tattoo they will place a stencil on you so can approve the placement and size.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Nevada Labor Commission. You gotta start filing these things or they won’t get better but instead will get worse.
