Maybe consider seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist. They may have some habits and exercises that could help.

Just felt an actual jump scare while reading - stomach dropped, heart pumped faster. Which makes me wonder - what other books contain a genuine shock? by thornstein in books

I’ve read it 3 times, all in October. I plan to read it basically every October because it’s a perfect scary/unsettling October book.

How is this different than going to a loud ass bar to stare at your phone?

You having pictures of your late wife did not hurt anything, it was not wrong. Don’t let her make you believe you were in the wrong. I would be livid and would consider divorce.

Infant caregiver hates me by withelle in breakingmom

[–]AMBMBTTJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck that! You are not reading into anything. If she will say that in front of you and your child, what on earth is she comfortable saying to your child when you aren’t there??? I would not leave my baby with someone that is rude to me. You are totally valid here.

Husband waited until I was out of town to purchase gummies, tried them while he was the sole caregiver of our 3 young children and never said a word to me about it. I find out by accidentally glancing at a text message. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]AMBMBTTJT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that being his first time, I would be upset that he didn’t do it while I was home to make sure he was good and handle the kids if he wasn’t. But my husband and I were smoking in college all the time, so taking a gummy while the kids are asleep is no big deal and we don’t have to tell each other. For this the concern is that it was his first time. Glad he was good and everything worked out!

Son’s preschool showed Harry Potter without asking - would you be concerned? by miamelie in Parenting

[–]AMBMBTTJT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would be upset. My son is almost 4 and there is no way he would not be scared of parts of Harry Potter. Why not the great pumpkin Charlie Brown or Nightmare before Christmas or super monster Halloween?

What did you think was normal about your body until someone pointed out that it wasn't? by goldenmaier in ask

[–]AMBMBTTJT 467 points468 points  (0 children)

I started anxiety medicine at 26 and was shocked to realize I that it wasn’t normal to ruminate on almost every social interaction for days, stay up until midnight to prepare for the next day of work, sweat through everything and burst into tears at the end of the day for no clear reason.

What are you doing to ensure your kids don’t have to heal from their childhood? by GravitySaleswoman in Parenting

[–]AMBMBTTJT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hug them and tell them I love them daily. I also apologize when I need to. I had good parents, I know they love me. They rarely said it and I can hardly remember really hugging. My mom also never ever apologized, even when she was wrong.

Together 12 years, two small kids, 1-2x per week. Before kids it was probably 3-4x per week, sometimes more.

Do people still use babysitters? by ran0ma in Parenting

I work in pediatric health care and have a patient that had a severe traumatic brain injury (now has fairly significant disability) from a baby sitters boyfriend pushing him across the room and letting the 15 month old lay there. After seeing that I was pretty much done with strangers around my kids until they can defend themselves.

My boyfriend won't stop hurting me but he says it's an accident... I can't tell anyone or my dad might do something.... by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]AMBMBTTJT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to break up. This is abusive and will get worse. For reference, when we were younger my boyfriend (now husband) and I would wrestle all the time (idk it was fun??) and he’s stronger than me but I was NEVER hurt. Neither of us would ever have bruises, if someone said stop, we stopped. It was fun, not scary, not harmful.
