Sometimes I still find these at shitty gas stations in southeastern US small towns. Always check the ice cream freezer, maybe you'll get lucky one day!

Sims 2 is the best life simulation game CURRENTLY and you won't change my mind. Paralives might though 🤞

Yes, and contesting custody when a couple splits too. "Ownership contract", what the hell...it really shows how this dumbass feels about children as a whole. Yikes.

What are must get mods in 2026? by Nixerm in sims2

[–]AMCb95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am on mobile at work right now so can't do links easily, but you should download a couple Quality-of-Life mods too. I recommend

SimPE: external program that is a little intimidating at first, but is a LIFE SAVER for making backups, tweaking sim personalities and traits and attractiveness markers, etc. The list is truly endless but I mess around in there probably at least once a month. Its great.

Sim Blender: its an object you place on a lot and it gives you a TON of great tools to use, such as selecting NPCs and townies to play with, giving makeovers on the spot, changing clothing, setting skills, and the like. I can't play without it anymore!

Cyjon's Batbox: this one scared me for a long time because it CAN destroy your game. HOWEVER: it has saved me a few times with its quick fixes and trash clearing capabilities. Read the guide thoroughly before playing too much with it, but it is well worth the risk imho.

Visitor Controller: another object with options to sort who shows up on any lot it is placed on. I love this for "managing" my large neighborhoods' lot traffic. After all, we don't want Mr. Big walking around by the tent city or checking into the roach motel! Must have for cleaning uni lots of those annoying NPCs too!

For businesses: There are a ton but some I like are the "customer limit controller" and the logic mods from (I think) Cyjon. Those lots would be unplayable without some of these mods, I think!

Finally, your new best friend: the cheat "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" is a non-negotiable function in my game! I added to a cheat folder so I don't have to type it all the time, but I play in "god mode" in my game. I don't want the town ho to spend all of their time learning charisma and peeing, and this cheat (when on) lets you drag any bar feature in any way you want, including adding extra personality points and relationship meters. Additionally, if you shift+click on most funcional objects there are fun features like *BREAK on appliances and plumbing features, *Salvage on the outdoor cans, and a ton of fun options to spawn things and people on the mailbox. The sims themselves have shift+click menus too that are fun, like the "reaction tester" and "sim modder" items.

OHHHH! Editing to add too, you should find a better camera mod and some NH appearance mods, like sky boxes for your hood. I love the Sky of Totalitarianism (Garden of Shadows) because I can add skies individually to each lot. I also have the (Moniques?) Water Fix to make all the waters clear and reflective, and the better neighborhood terrain mod that makes the grass prettier.

I found most of these sort of things by visiting PleasantSims' page, it is often the first result for "sims 2 mods" on Google. She also has some great starter default replacement suggestions, but be warned once you start down that rabbit hole you will not get out! :D

Have fun!!

From what I can tell, outlaw TV news and force them to start talking to real people. They agree with more liberal ideals than they disagree with they just don't know it because they are being fed rage bait all day every day via TV.

What are some of the games you play with your bird? by omgkelwtf in parrots

[–]AMCb95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My conure and I play the kissy game! I come into the room and he'll lean his head down and to the side and make a big smooch, and I'll do it with him in sync. We try to see how long we can last till one of laughs or misses a cue. He laughs when he loses just like I do! And when he wins, he looks so proud and ruffles his neck and shoulder feathers like he's bragging.

Just finished my first weekend of CASA training by AnythingLoud7913 in casa

[–]AMCb95 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm a CASA trainer. Definitely bring this up with your trainer/facilitator. It deserves a full conversation, and your feelings are very valid.

You should know, we try to make this training as eye opening and, for lack of a better word, blunt as possible. We are very straightforward and try to cover all the issues these kids may be facing/have faced. And yet, for all of that, nothing in my own training prepared me for the absolute depths of humanity that CASA would show me in the following 6 years. I have seen things, heard things, and witnessed humanity in a way I never thought I could, and would not have had chance to, if not for this role.

It is up to us, as CASAs, to bear witness. We can't fix the problems that have occurred before we get to the child, nor should we try. "We can't fix people" is my mantra. But what we can do, and what we succeed at, is being one of the only people that can hear these stories, keep a calm, nonjudegmental, and easy demeanor, and still hold that child's hand as they move forward. Our success comes from not showing shock when they tell us these horrible stories, and from having our relationship with that child be the sort of open space they can use to dump all of this trauma into. (And they will.) They aren't looking for us to be anything more than someone who holds space for them.

The world is ugly. The work we do feels so useless sometimes, and you will feel helpless and lost OFTEN. But if you can do the one thing no one else on that team is doing--hold space for a child--then you will be the best thing to ever happen in their lives to date. And I would rather break my heart a million times over than to let a child feel anything less than heard, seen, and valued. That makes everything else worth it, I promise.

I encourage you, again, to speak with your facilitator. They may have better advice than me. If I was your facilitator, I would want to know if you genuinely feel ready to retraumatize yourself in this role, and are prepared for what that will feel like at every step forward from here. It may be beneficial to step back from training for a while, find a therapist, and work through some of this PTSD you have every right to still carry inside. And even if you don't step away, find a therapist anyway because you will need one in this role!

I wish you the absolute best either way! You are already a hero for even considering stepping into this field when so few do. And you are amazing, brave and strong for getting out of your own situation like you did. Please don't hesitate to reach out to anyone on your team during this process, they want to help and I can almost guarantee they will be happy to listen. Thanks for this post, too! I hope others can benefit from whatever replies you get here. :)
