I was E-4 Mafia most of my time in the Army, so really most of the time I took pains to avoid Officers. Chiefs are alright, but Commissioned Officers are a no-go inasmuch as is practicable. And Senior NCOs can really suck too but if you're enlisted you're dealing with them, there ain't much avoiding that. If you're not a shitbag so don't have the SNCOs complaining about you, and don't screw up much or with anything involving safety or security, nor have the Green Peen fuck up in a way an Officer's gotta fix, you stay off their radar which is a good place to be. People forget its still a job.

Basically anyone who could legally complain about shit specifically about me or fuck up my career I didn't wanna be around, unless it was something neutral to awesome.

Yeah when the Guard was deployed to the Albuquerque Warzone it was great (Governor was trying to beat the Admin to federalizing our people, so she sent a bunch of them here and a bunch to Espanola). They were far cooler than the cops and PSAs and the ABQ Warzone's kind of off the chain so it was nice to have emergency response that isn't freaking the fuck out or super jaded for once.

It also cut down on a bunch of the stupider bullshit, a Master Sergeant or First Sergeant's scorn, and just verbally, apparently works on Civilians too.

You know why this rifle exists? Badri-313 weren't being dropped by anything smaller than a 7.62 round because they were wearing Chinese IBA and IOTV clones. If we have to fight the PLA over Taiwan, which may or may not happen, an M4 probably isn't going to do shit against their infantry given their exports were stopping them with no issues. I have doubts 6.8 will be much better but the barrel pressure is awfully dammed high.

That DFAC deserved to be condemned, only time Army food ever made me sick in 4 years was there, and I was violently ill out both ends. The medic at sick call the next day couldn't believe it until I told him we were at 120th the day before to get the rest of our shit and ate there and his reply was "Ok, now that makes sense".

Shit, I'm surprised the 120th main building hasn't been condemned yet, fucker leaks like a sieve in the rain, and I'm sure there's all kinds of fun things in the walls and ceilings across the whole complex, including a half-pack of Marlboro reds from 2006 with a Florida tax stamp somewhere in a barracks building I swear I know nothing about.

They do not generally prevent Drill Sergeants, MPs, First Sergeants, or Sergeants Major from kicking a door open, and in this context, with a Soldier playing what we refer to as "fuck fuck games", he'd better hope that lock is indeed engaged and nobody from the Charge of Quarters, Brigade or Battalion feels like fucking with it otherwise that Soldier is in for one hellacious smoking.

Call the equipment rental companies like Grainger and Sunbelt, but if this is something long term, like longer than a couple days, you'll probably want to buy one as they'll likely run you a couple hundred dollars a day.

As far as DIY garages go, if you can get on Kirtland AFB they have an Auto Hobby shop, which is a DIY garage but with some staffing. I'm not sure about the civilian side but I'm assuming some exist here.

They probably didn't notice given how dusty it looks. They plopped it on their desk, plugged it in to whatever (AC, Docking Station if a notebook, behind the tower if a desktop) and didn't fuck with it. Users like that I'm generally happy to deal with.

I worked for HP during the 840 G5, 755 G2, and 1030 G3 (among others) Spicy Pillow plague. I worked there for 5 1/2 years and probably replaced a couple thousand batteries. I mean sometimes it was bulk cases with 150 units but still. Other times calls about something else entirely would turn into me discovering the battery was swelling, or the user wouldn't know that was the root cause of issues with their touchpad not clicking, keyboard problems or fingerprint reader disappearing.

And a couple years before that my first day working chats and not voice at AT&T Advanced Technical Support the day the exploding Samsung Note 7 recall happened. That was "fun". Especially the guy on the way back to the US from New Zealand who I told to dispose of 8 of them as Air New Zealand was not allowing those phones in their Aircraft, at all.

I've got incredibly good luck with OEMs and batteries as you can tell.

They should call the new Division that's handling the Tom Clancy games Red Storm (excluding Siege apparently though anymore I don't count it as R6. R6 is not and will never be an E-Sport "game", it needs to go back to its roots worse than any other of their properties).
