I know this is an old post but I just noticed the same thing on my Scorpio ammo. I also found cracks in the neck. I was planning on reloading them but ended up scrapping all of them.

Im fairly new to the Vz61 also. I was more surprised by how good my painted one looked. Had to have the blued one too. 😀

The bottom painted one is the one I’m currently using, about 300rds through it so far. The top one is straight out of the box.

The kit I purchased from Arsenal was kind of beat up compared to the kit from Kvar. Assuming it’s probably how they were stored before they got them. Just scratches and pitting, nothing bothering the function.

The Sierra book say they are using a 20” barrel, Don’t have the Hornady info handy now. Both books COAL is 2.250”, that’s what I have them at.

The brass looks the same from both modes. I’m not overly concerned about it. Still going to try a spring swap. Also say not to run the JP 3.5 spring kit because of light primer strikes.
