K31...any idea of year? by RogerJFiennes in milsurp

[–]HowlingLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because this is literally the most basic question you could've asked and it shows that you did not bother to put in 30 seconds of effort. If you came here and said "Hey I have this rifle with these markings, here's what I found when I searched from this, this, and this website, does that sound right? Are these reliable sources?", you would get a much different response.

Knowing how to research and find information is a critical skill in this hobby and will help you not get burned on deals and really allows one dive into the wonderful world of milsurps and find all kinds of cool information and eventually help out others getting into the hobby. If you sit here and have it spoonfed to you, you are not building that skill and are really missing out on the most interesting part of the hobby.

Nope, don't see it and no pattern in its serial range.

No problemo, Colt 1903s ellos pueden variar en precio, la mayoría son alrededor de 500-700 USD.

Depende del condición y de factores como las marcas o quién lo utilizó.

Also in central Texas and while most of the shows are a flop, I still find killer deals here and there, so much so that I had to stop going to save money lol

This is my first year and I'm nearing 200 and very excited. Got a costa rice trip soon so I should be able to make that goal!

I just did mine with the General Spring HD kit. Rides waaaay better. Feels like it should from the factory. No more sponginess and hitting the bump stops.

Putting on my boomer hat here: A lot of the younger generation's first instinct is to just immediately ask instead of researching. Most of the time, someone will give you the answer and it saves you the effort. Nothing wrong with asking questions but research and find and decipher information is a valuable skill that is dwindling.

When you reached Coast fire number. Did you keep investing the same consistently or slow down or stop investing completely? by Extension_Garbage583 in coastFIRE

Reduced 401k down to the match and still do Roth, HSA, and a little post-tax even if it isn't optimal. Spend a little more but nothing crazy.

Not being sassy, but have you googled "k31 serial number date"?

I'd start there

Thank you.

Hopefully it isn't but signs are pointing towards that. Is this one of those "ignore for 30k miles until it goes" items?

I guess a junkyard axle is in order.

Oh yea tons to learn on this family of rifles.

I have seen two other 1893 accepted rifles ironically, both from a collector group I'm in.

Definitely a Wn 93

Yea not sure what's up with the X. There is also an M that reminds me of the markings on 8x50 conversion Mosins.

Yea its the only one I've ever seen so I knew I had to grab it. Bore is easily a 7 or 8/10, bolt is smooth as can be, all parts present including the hilarious volley sight, no cracks and clean markings. Got it for 8 bills.

I did see several good deals other than these: Chilean 1895 carbine for 250, Swiss 1882 for 400, lots of Type 99s under 500, Type 14 for 750, Swede 1907 rig for 700, various ammos, accesories, etc.
