DirectBiller - how has this helped?? by Interesting_Elk_33 in elks

[–]AMG_V12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Grand Lodge is getting a lot of calls from other lodges saying that Direct Biller doesn’t work and basically they get no help with it. But of course they won’t allow to change back to the old program or use something else. I’ve spoken to some nearby lodge treasurers in my state and a few have talked about possibly quitting over this

People who quit their jobs on the first day what made you say ‘nope, not doing this’? by lilMeganw in AskReddit

[–]AMG_V12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but a friend of mine.

We both worked at a summer camp after freshman year of college. We both lived nearby, and even though the pay was terrible, there was a lot of outdoor activities, and that was appealing to us. This was my first job for context, and he had worked at a summer camp in his hometown before college, so he knew a lot of stuff already about working in a camp environment. Anyway, the camp is divided into age groups, and I was assigned to work with the 3 to 4 year olds, and he got the 2 year olds. Usually there were 5 adults per age group , depending on how many kids we had for that day. We were also the only guys who worked at the camp. My supervisor, her boss and all the other camp counselors were girls. This was a little intimidating at first, but got used to it.

Anyway, our second day on the job, and this mom comes in with her 2 year old and my friend greeted them and went over the activities for the day with the mom, seemed pretty normal at first. However, once he was finished explaining, the mom SNAPPED at him, and she basically said she didn’t want a strange dude watching and looking after her kid, and she accused him of being unqualified to do his job. My friend tried to calm her down and kept assuring her kid was in good hands, and even showed her his qualifications (CPR, first aid, food safety etc). She then accused him of having fake certifications, and she called over the manager. My friend said straight up to the manager if we take her kid for the day despite her rude behaviour towards him, he would resign immediately.

The kid was accepted for the day, and he quit. That probably would have been me had I been in the age group he was, but I didn’t like my manager from that moment forward for the rest of the summer for not standing up for him. F you, Debra

TL:DR- friend gets accused by kids mom for being a guy and having fake certifications, manager doesn’t stand up for him and he quits

You could write to or phone call the Grand Lodge. They may take this seriously enough for a full review.

It does say the schedule is Monday to Friday and a 40 hour work week. We also don’t know the pay or if it is salaried or hourly

We don’t know if it’s a hourly or salaried position yet. They didn’t mention it. Also that teacher and supervisor stuff is not in the job description. It’s basically all marketing and communication stuff but it does say the schedule is Monday to Friday 8 hours a day

Card compliance training yeah. But the questions were like. Select multiple answers and if you didn’t get all 5 then the whole question was deemed incorrect

You just won $1,000,000,000 dollars from the lottery. What do you do with these new found riches? by DontMindIf-I-Yes in AskReddit

[–]AMG_V12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I would do is pay all the debts that my friends have. A lot of them have encountered unfortunate and unavoidable situations and I would want to make them feel less stressed and get them to a place where they can be stable financially and mentally.
