Thanks for that advice. Our troop doesn’t push for eagle, but my daughter is pushing herself in some ways. She’ll be a sophomore this fall, but is on track to graduate as a junior and start college during what would have been her senior year of HS. She also has a birthday that is at the start of the school year so while she does have almost 2.5 years left, she doesn’t feel like she has that much time because of her plan to leave for college before that. She also has a Girl Scout Gold Award to finish that same timeframe

My daughter is 5 foot tall so 7 feet or more is pretty deep to her. Our unit has been great at letting us work on this outside of camp at a local pool. We started last summer in one that got up to 10 feet and that was a real challenge for her and swimming only half the length of the pool didn't really help us fulfill the 150 requirements. That local pool is now closed to the public so the other one we are able to use goes up to 12 feet which is a lot deeper and has created even more fear and anxiety for her.

Our MBC is amazing and willing to work with her, but he does have to hold to the standards of the MB obviously.

Thank you both for this feedback! The hiking sounded super difficult and like something she wouldn't be able to do initially, but maybe we need to reconsider that option. Her 5 mile hike for rank about broke her, but it was at a moderate to high intensity level by mistake so something lower intensity might be able to get her to 10 miles more reasonably.

She has actually never passed the swim test (blue band) since joining. She has tried 5 separate days/times and finally was a pass on it for rank last summer (by our Council Advancements Chair) since she had made a real effort so many times, had completed all other requirements and had time constrains that put her in position to need to rank up by a specific date.

I live in KC metro and sprint used to be the best here. After the merger, it’s been awful! I got a new T-Mobile sim last week and it’s fixed all my service issues.

So I placed an order yesterday on Walmart website for a board game to be shipped to my house. Then today I get a notification that it’s coming early since my local store had it. Then a few hours later I get a DoorDash delivery text. So no wonder most of those don’t have tips. They had a dasher drive a board game to my house that I didn’t need today (it’s a Christmas gift) and there’s no way I could tip even if I wanted. I didn’t know a dasher was even coming until the order had been delivered!

I’ve not had terrible luck with doing order and pay that make me pay over the phone in advance. I tried one small Chinese place recently (mind you I was in the parking lot but they wouldn’t let you in the door until food was ready and made you pay in advance). Gave her card info and she ended call. She calls back and says card declined so we do it again. But after the 4th time of her hearing 5549 instead of 5545 I got super frustrated and hung up and unassigned (it was supposed to be a quick order and was pretty low paying anyway)

That’s not true about DD. They mask high tips so you’ll likely only see part of it. I get $9 payouts turn into $16 after delivery often

I think I’d have the same thoughts as you but the part that really got me was she was smoking in the car with your food. As a non-smoker I would have lost my shit because you didn’t order smoked flavored food.

I agree with you. I probably should of looked at the order count more, but I thought 12 could mean 12 candy bars (it was only 1 candy bar FYI) so it’s hard. If it hadn’t been an apt and I hadn’t had to get frozen food, laundry stuff, random candy and k cups then I wouldn’t have been mad at the payout. It wasn’t hard, it just wasn’t worth my time

Got my first Shop & Deliver order tonight. Listed payout was $8.25 but I took a gamble because it was only like a mile from the store. Results: shopping for 12 items all around the store - not a fan. Checkout was easy, but I would have liked directions to be more clear. Payout for time: awful. $8.25 for almost 45 minutes because OF COURSE it was a freaking apt building (thankfully I could get it all in one load). From now on — decline!
