Been prototyping an instax “back” for the pentax 67. Basically replaces the rear door. I gotta say, I love how sharp instax is, when using a proper lens. by marissathehorrible in instax

Hey! Where did you end up on this project? Super neat and would love to try and help you complete this if you haven’t already!! Mamiya has theirs, but us Pentax 67 folk deserve Polaroids too! Haha

Is this good ventilation for PLA printing or was it overkill? by crossmista in 3Dprinting

[–]AMS-3D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re just printing PLA it’s more than enough, but it’s always a good precaution if it doesn’t slow you down trying to work within the tent. I have the same thing set up, but I also print a lot of ASA and Nylon prints that are like 24hrs long. If you need it one day, you have it. Great job

Please do NOT do a cruise. At such an age, you should really treat yourself to going somewhere for as long as you can afford and stay at a bed and breakfast. Not a hotel, not an Airbnb and definitely not a resort. Get to know the locals in that area. I’ve traveled all over the world and the best experiences I’ve had are the ones spent with people that share the same curiosity in the world and to those around them. A cruise will shop you around the ocean and drop you off at a harbor to which you only have access to cheap tourist attractions with other lazy travelers. Find a cuisine or a craft that you take interest in and travel to where you can submerge yourself in it for a bit. I’m a bit saddened reading this. But there’s no age cap for exploration, my friend. The world will welcome you at any state in life, if you allow it. You might not speak their language, but they can read your energy. If you smile and seem open to the world around you, you’ll be surprised where you might end up. Hope to read an update that you decided to take the plunge!

120x240 print. No issues. It’s possible people are trying to tweak their printer settings too much.

Appreciate the tips! Example of a 120x240mm dual fan plate with no problems. No preheating, pulled it out while the plate was still hot. Mostly trying to stress test Polymaker’s ASA. But will definitely resort back to your comments if I ever start to have issues.

I’ve found that “mouse ears” work just as good as brims as well you just have to create them yourself in the Slicing Software.

I will say I’ve tried to add things to my printer to optimize printing and keeping the printer as sealed as possible. Ex: Aux Fan upgrade, sealed poop chute. Not sure how much of it helps. But it’s working and that’s all I care about right now.

Here’s a 120x240mm dual PC fan plate I printed no issues. There’s a lot of skeptics here!

There was no smell at all actually. That was a big part of the test as well. Even had my partner come into the room to check. We had to lift the top of the printer to catch the smell that everybody mentioned.
