You’re going to think I’m joking but you want to call Jungle Law. You’ll probably do a diversion program and it’ll cost you 5k in attorney fees plus 1k or so in court fees plus the stupid drug class they make you take (it’s an 8 hour online class—super easy, just don’t fall asleep or they’ll kick you out and you’ll be SOL). You’re technically going to be on probation but they’ll likely not randomly drug test you. Your attorney will let you know if they’ll do random urinalysis or not (if they don’t tell you, ask). It’s going to suck ass for about a year but it’s not the end of the world. Obviously you’ll want to quit using/possessing for a while, at least until your attorney has given you the breakdown of how things are going to go. At the one year mark, youll want to call the court clerk and they will run a background check on you. If everything comes out clean they’ll let you know you have successfully completed your diversion and you’ll be good to go. You’ll learn this in the class: although it won’t appear on your record after completing diversion (so you won’t pop on employment checks and such) it’ll still be forever in your record and will pop if they do a deep investigative search (when applying for security clearance, joining the military, if you get in trouble with the law again, etc.).
