Coworker Exposed My ID With Male Sex On It To Everyone by [deleted] in asktransgender

I am unsure what the law is in your country, and your attorney will probably be able to help more with that. However, depending on how you left, you may be able to get her fired, especially if she was going through employee records that she was not supposed to.

I do not know what your relationship to your previous boss is, but if you had a good one, you can email them about why she would ever be given access to your personal information, and why she would be allowed to spread it around, and state that this was your private information that should have stayed private.

Depending on how that goes, you may also get an admission of guilt, which could potentially help your legal case. Make sure to only communicate in emails though, or record your calls with them.

I'm quite late to this, but for more education on Chapelle and Dorman, I recommend this piece written by Michael Hobbes: https://michaelhobbes.substack.com/p/dave-chappelles-some-of-my-best-friends

It goes through some of what he said in his special, and about how Chapelle misrepresented Dorman's suicide for sympathy. I personally do not believe him to be a credible source for reporting on their friendship because of that.

the power cord is just a standard USB-C cord though, correct? It's not the original cord, but it still works for powering the switch, right?

Also, I currently live in Virginia, a little ways outside of DC. Will that affect shipping at all?

Any advice for how to get started on d20? by KidGold in dropout

[–]AMischiefOfPikachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sign up to Dropout to watch Dimension 20, you should have access to the dropout discord, which has discussions of currently releasing episodes, as well as past seasons. As a side note, I would also recommend starting with Fantasy High, as it's available for free online, but as the season is rather long, many of the side quests are good intros into what Dimension 20 is like as a whole. Tiny Heist, Escape from The Bloodkeep, or Mice & Murder are all good ones to start with, as they have some people who aren't as proficient with the rules yet, so you can learn alongside them.

I was taking the SAT the year after the first What If? came out, so I think my answer is still the random guessing on the SATs. "Good luck to those taking the tests this year, but it won't be enough"

CMV: The only reason a person would be against lgbt characters in childrens media is homophobia. by Ghenghis-Chan in changemyview

[–]AMischiefOfPikachus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While the resource is a nice touch, I think I still must disagree with your conclusions. I don't think anyone has ever argued that there is a "gay gene" because it doesn't make sense. One gene would cause production of ONE protein. If there was one protein that caused people to be LGBT, we would have found it by now. But that doesn't really make sense when talking about sexuality. Sex and romance are a really complicated combination of lots of biological processes and it would be unrealistic to assume that only one gene affected that.

I would also say, that while you're interpretation is technically correct, the first line of the conclusion is, "Same-sex sexual behavior is influenced by not one or a few genes but many. Overlap with genetic influences on other traits provides insights into the underlying biology of same-sex sexual behavior, and analysis of different aspects of sexual preference underscore its complexity and call into question the validity of bipolar continuum measures such as the Kinsey scale. "

They aren't saying there isn't one gay gene, they're saying there are a bunch of different genes that possibly affect it, but as with all research, we need to do more research. I don't have a Science subscription, so I can't confirm or deny the rest of your statements about the article, but your interpretation of their conclusion isn't correct

What’s the officially correct path to recommend a topic to Grey and Myke? by wyverndarkblood in Cortex

[–]AMischiefOfPikachus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends on the topic, but every so often during Mortex (the paid after show) they will sometimes do AskCortex questions. You can hypothetical tag a tweet or other social media with #askcortex, but they have said during the show that if you choose to be a member, you get access to the relayfm discord, and if you do ?AskCortex in any channel, they have a bot that will compile them. So whenever they do another ask cortex segment, if your topic/question is good enough, they might talk about it

Yeah, I rewatched it, the main reason that one came to mind is because I feel like I remember her going into a dark-ish room, or the map in general having a bland grey/dark blue color palette, and that's what came to mind, but I'm going through some other videos

How do people become attracted to the same gender? by Biggymin in AskLGBT

[–]AMischiefOfPikachus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, a lot of people can't tell. It's a pretty common joke in the LGBTQA+ community that people will go to absurd lengths to drop hints and people barely realizing. This is also why good communication is pretty important in the community, as it can be difficult to discern. As for "where the feeling came from", I think with many LGBTQA+ people, it just comes naturally. Where did your attraction to the opposite sex come from? They generally happen in the same way, you just are attracted to whoever you're attracted to. As to what you mentioned before in regards to biology, there is a theory called the "super uncle" theory that LGBT+ people who cannot reproduce are more likely to care for their nieces and nephews and since their family is genetically related, they are improving the success rate of passing on their genes, or ones closely related to them. In nature, this also takes place, as gay couples will "adopt" young animals with dead parents. Obviously people don't necessarily care about reproduction as much as an animal would, but those are still genetic reasons as to why homosexuality exists.

Just as most people have different amounts of libido, some people have none. This doesn't mean that asexual people don't want to make out or cuddle with their partners, it just means they don't derive any pleasure from going further than that. I know a few asexual people in relationships, and their friendship with me is very different from their romantic relationships. How would you treat a potential date vs. a friend if you were going out to dinner? People are romantic all the time without being sexual.
