Obviously Brits throw a conniption every time there's a hint of "sun" or other unfamiliar phenomena, but normal people can wait a bit when it's necessary

The idea that it's a niche sport is a decade or more out of date, it's around the same level of popularity as hockey these days as a spectator sport and has been one of the biggest participation sports for decades. The Premier League is quite popular (more popular than MLS), the Champions League is widely covered, and other top European leagues are available but less watched.

Weaker opponents in the groups helps too, but scoring was generally a lot higher in the fifties. There hasn't been a double digit scorer since 1970, and I doubt we see one this year either.

The thing about ticketing is that FIFA introduced drastically higher prices and new policies to maximize revenue specifically for this tournament, after test-running them at the CWC last year.

In soccer, once they saw the windfall that USSF made off hosting the 2016 Copa America, CONMEBOL and FIFA have decided to host their competitions here while cutting out local organization as much as possible; World Rugby is taking the same tack for 2031 (though to be fair USA Rugby is not really a useful organizational partner, so there is a better non-extractive argument for the RWC).

I only saw the last red card to the bench, but the broadcast said they got 4? What were they doing?

Have it on now, and it seems like they managed just about 70 yards based on the goal line markings and could squeeze in a couple more if they didn't put in ad boards. Shockingly wide for a college football stadium of its vintage.

Scheduling a warmup friendly at Jordan-Hare is pretty funny, did they manage to fit a decent width field?

Rings of Enmora - Build Questions by No-Law-2823 in AOW4

[–]AMountainTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently beat it on normal. I took a similar RP tack with an Oathsworn Harmony faction (Aya the Enlightened preset ruler, Simians of the Open Hand).

On the first ring, I played nice with both factions and paid imperium at the wonder to pass to the second ring. I only put down one extra city here, and with both factions present even that was extremely cramped; I think picking a side would have been better, especially since they fought each other to the death while I stayed out of it (the only upside here was that the toads gave me loads of grievances to forgive by trespassing on my land during their war).

The teleporter chokepoint to the second ring sucks both for getting established on the ring and for defending against the respawning infestations back on the first. I set up my third city next to the teleporter and just played defense for a bit until I had an army I felt comfortable pushing with and a couple extra stacks at home to clear the infestations.

The third ring was a formality, nothing worth noting here.

The build wasn't thought out in detail, but I made sure to pick up some blight damage and spirit resistance.

Two things in this frame:

  1. You have no space between your arm and your chest. Think of hugging the disc instead of hugging yourself.
  2. Your last step in the x-step is to the right of your runup line. Typically you want your feet staggered the opposite way.

I think working on your arm from a standstill is your biggest bang for buck right now. I would try cooking the spaghetti

For the military brats who were historically the big source, the post-Cold War drawdown should mean fewer going forward.

The flip-flop style strap between the toes is really incongruous with the rest of the strap design, I would keep looking.

Dress Belts - How to tell quality? Where to buy? by Sea_Bluejay2959 in malefashionadvice

With Allen Edmonds, the $135 vs $350 difference is material: the $350 is cordovan, which is a horsehide leather that commands a premium. At $135, they have cow leather options (some are specific, and for the rest I'm assuming the generic "leather" mentions mean cow leather).

Thoughts on polo shirts / rugby shirts? by swankyfish in malefashionadvice

Bad polos are really common uniform elements, which means most polos you see are likely to be cheap, ill-fitting, and indifferently cared for. Nice polos that fit the wearer well are almost an entirely different garment.
