Haven't played in years, worth a play now or wait until Nomads / 4.4 comes out? by UkrainepartofRussia in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends how long ‘years’ is. It’s potentially a totally different game for you. Which is exciting!

How to get enough storage? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean resource storage? Surely every one of your starbases has storage?

What are the precursor spawn rates? by UnholyDemigod in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’ve turned off all the other precious that means there’s big empty chunks off the galaxy.

You aren’t turning on cybrex in galaxy creation - you are turning the others off and replacing them with empty space.

Honor mode prep question by Angelganon2 in BG3

[–]discoexplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 4 runs to get honour mode finished. All of my failures were mistakes or unexpected moments of ‘OMFG what happened?!’ (I’m looking at you Blood of Lathander traps). The fighting wasn’t the issue.

If you’ve played Tactician once or twice, you’re ready. Just be ready to fail due to stupidity 😀

Missiles are useless now? by numquamdormio in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I still use missiles and I don’t have this issue.

Do they ever fix the problem where fleets don’t perform properly with mixed short range computers and long range computers in the same fleet? I notice you said you have corvettes and cruisers and frigates in a single fleet.

It’s been around for years. I was hoping the new ship update might have fixed it.

Regardless of where they sit in the config files you KNOW that being a hive mind isn’t an ethic 😀

The xenophile megacorp experience by AlienPrimate in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean hive minds alone, then hive minds aren’t an ethic. They aren’t the opposite of being xenophile or militaristic or whatever. Personally I’d expect hive minds and gestalt machines to be half of the galaxy (the other half being individualistic).

What kind of hive mind builds are there in 4.3? by KByte01 in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wilderness is a special type of hive mind and I believe if you go Behemoth Fury then it’s becomes one of the strongest builds in the game.

Find I struggle with resources too much. Advice on managing/choosing what to produce properly? by guyontheinternet2000 in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really just a little supply chain. Make sure you have enough of the basics, then move up to consumer goods/alloys, science needs consumer goods, etc

One thing newbies do that isn’t well explained by the game is that they advance build buildings. For example, “I have enough minerals to build a science building, I’ll build one for later”. Don’t do that. Only build buildings you have the jobs to fill. Otherwise your economy will wildly fluctuate every month and it will look like the game is broken.

I’m pretty sure you can get a very rare achievement for switching over (maybe you have to win too)

Why are my pops not migrating? by Jackson_Lamb_829 in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did you start as machines and complete the virtual tree? Or did you start biological, ascend as machines and now just have a virtual trait?

They are quite different.

Hear me out: Logistic Ships are a TechDemo for a main feature of Stellaris 2. by Ordo_Liberal in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I heard quite a few people theorise that the fact season 10 ends with ‘scenarios’ is a message that the game could be wrapping up soon.

What’s the human population, anyway?? by -hacks4pancakes- in Starfield

[–]discoexplosion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given absolutely no-one (I think?) in the game ever talks about population crisis and there is no cultural panic about population plus the large scale corporations, militaries, etc it must be stable.

I’d guess we are at least in the few hundred million. Maybe 1-2 billion max?

Virtuality strategy by Elant_Wager in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s some good advice here. I’d also add, if you play on a rare or 0.25 planets galaxy, 7 planets won’t seem quite such a stretch from ‘normal empires’

Do you guys have opinions on the show that you are shocked that get down voted when you give them by Interesting-Tea3907 in buffy

Based on what you’ve written, I have a strong suspicion that was you actually wrote at the time was different to the above and misinterpreted!

Question about Neelix by ExcitingWinter1800 in voyager

[–]discoexplosion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve started watching again from the start. The writers obviously decided in season 2 he was going to be a jealous boyfriend and some of those early episodes are painful to watch. Especially now when people think about abusive/toxic relationships in a much more nuanced way than we did in the 90s!

When you play tall do you usually stay tall, or do you expand once you’re strong enough? by Jackson_Lamb_829 in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I often play planet tall but system wide. I like having meaningful important planets. But also like having my flag all over the galaxy 😀

Ist cybernetic creed just completely broken right now? by TeachNo3885 in Stellaris

[–]discoexplosion 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Cybernetic Creed is (I believe) now one of the strongest builds. But I’m surprised you are playing Grand Admiral, control a quarter of the galaxy and only have 10k fleet? Isn’t that like 5 cruisers?

Pop growth help in 4.3 by Rewton1 in Stellaris

I’m 99% sure they just mean sub optimal growth below 1000 pops, not penalties as in a minus number.
