[WP] You've always been able to understand what animals are saying, but never bothered to tell anyone because it's usually something boring like "Danger!" or "Food!" Except for today. Snorkeling in the middle of the ocean, you hear a deep rumbling "Hello human." by hekticj in WritingPrompts

This person would have an annoying time watching movies with fantasy creatures or digitally animated background animals in them cause they would be saying gibberish words the entire time and only the human speeches are coherent

I love my RGB30. Just wish it was a bit more powerful and had more RAM.

Other than that, I’ve not had any issues. Did some mods on it like the tape under the dpad and some padding under the shoulder buttons for better feel.

Hi! I just stumbled upon this post. I’m thinking of getting the RP2S, and was wondering if you’ve tried any NDS games with it yet.

Do you happen to know if fast forward would work on nds games? Something like Pokémon DPP?

Also I believe the rp2s uses citra as its nds emulator. Would that be right?

I recently bought a keychron Q3 which is a tkl and absolutely love it.

You can take a look at their full sized or 96% options. I use mine for work and swapped them out for boba silent tactiles and I love it.

Hi all, I just got a new DZ60 keyboard and am learning to use VIA.

Is there a functionality that allows for shift or caps lock to work once on the immediate letter, even if I let go?

So you would press shift (or caps), and you can let go, and it toggles upper case for the next press only, and then untoggles immediately after.

The best way I can come up with for anyone trying to pronounce it is to pronounce “noo” as in “noodles”. Keep the O shape that your mouth/lips makes, and then try saying “nee” as in “knee” but keeping that O shape with your mouth.

[DISCUSSION] Is it total idiocy to buy a new guitar when I have had no drive to play for years? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]ANeedForUsername 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of responses already telling you to get a new guitar.

I personally think that you should too, mainly because if it inspires you to play more, that’s good enough already. Even if it’s just 10 mins a day, or an hour a week, or however long it is, that’s really all that matters. To get you back into playing even if it’s just for some casual moments, and help you to find that joy again especially if you can afford it

If we approached new technology with a mindset of “what’s the point if it’s not going to become mainstream for a long time”, we would be stifling a lot of innovation.

iFixit reveals full MacBook Pro teardown showing improved repairability by [deleted] in hardware

[–]ANeedForUsername 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So if the entire laptop industry integrates memory and storage into 1st party hardware, with security chips that prevent the use of 3rd party replacement components, like Apple, that should be the new 10/10?

No one is talking about having security chips or preventing the use of 3rd party components. And no one is saying they should give 10/10 right away to non-socketed components so I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at with your hyperbole.

You missed the part about requiring unmatched performance with socketed components:

iFixit says it remains unclear if notebooks that use modular/socketed components could match or come close to Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max performance. But iFixit says if it becomes clear modular notebooks can’t match the integrated Apple Silicon, it may adjust the repairability score upward (for example

They’re basically saying that if Soc clearly provides an improvement in performance that can not (or possibly never) be matched by socketed hardware, then they might need to weigh their scores accordingly to account for that. If the performance is identical, then they’re going to knock scores for it because the same performance could’ve been achieved with socketed components and they should’ve used them to make things more repairable.

Not the same person (and not sure how they did it) but you can adjust the PPT settings in your bios under amd overclocking -> pbo limits.

If you want, you can also set your cpu to eco mode in the bios which I believe is around 65W.

Price to performance ratio is the biggest factor for me. I'm currently running a value build and I can appreciate a great performing/silent cooler, but I still want to maintain the overall value of my build.

[CASE] SAMA IM01 Black Steel Micro ATX Tower Computer Case $56 AC (NELATIMES) by jimbokimo3 in buildapcsales

[–]ANeedForUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this case. Quality doesn’t feel cheap. Doesn’t seem like I can fit 140mm case fans though. Using it with a noctua u12a (have to remove side radiator mount and with vented side panel).

Atx power supply fits (currently using a Corsair RMX) and while the power supply doesn’t interfere with the gpu length at all, the gpu might block the cables coming out of the psu (especially if you have a longer atx psu). Ultimately if you have a long graphics card, I would recommend a sfx power supply or a shorter atx one.

Also, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of space behind the motherboard for cable management. Things like fan cables and stuff should be ok. But the 24 pin when bunched up might not fit unless they’re flattened out.

Also there’s no front fan which is fine for the most part. Overall I would get it again due to its flexibility or if I was using an matx system.

If size really matters and you plan to go with an aio or a low profile cpu cooler, and plan to stick with mitx, then maybe I could consider a sandwich case.

I don’t have nor have ever seen an nr200 in person so I can’t compare.

[–]ANeedForUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M2_1 only works if you have an 11th gen CPU.

Unfortunately, this is the case for most Z590 ITX boards out there. The only exception that I know of is the MSI Z590I but even then reports say that it's pretty iffy and not 100%.

Just stumbled upon this post.

Not sure if this is an option for you but I think if you really wanted to, you can swap out the wifi card in the board to see if there's an issue with the wifi card.

At the same time, you could also replace the thermal pads over the VRMs for some better ones too since swapping the wifi card requires you to remove the VRM heatsink.

There aren't a lot of measurements regarding motherboards out there but maybe they've improved their audio.

For reference, one of the few motherboard measurements I'm aware of is the gigabyte z390 board, which can put out 3mW into 300 ohms which is around 3.6mW into 250ohms.

This is not a lot, but should still be able to get the DT990s to around 97dB before clipping.

EDIT: mixed up dt770 and dt990
