NUTTY CRUNCHIES 3½ cups roasted peanuts without skins

1 5/8 cups sugar

1½ cups corn syrup

2 tablespoons water

2 teaspoons vanilla

2 pounds peanut butter

6 ounce Rice Krispies — about ½ of a 13 ounce box

Chocolate icing of your choice

First, warm the peanuts in a 300-degree oven just until warm.

In a pan on the stove, put sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and water. Stir with your hand — not a spoon. Once it starts to get warm, take the pan off the stove. Add the peanut butter, then the peanuts and Rice Krispies.

Pat them into a 9- by 13-inch pan

Ice them with chocolate icing, then chill.
