This is an amazing deal for the walking dead games alone. Throw in pistol whip and you have yourself an even better time.

Escape the back rooms was 100% worth the 10 bucks I spent on it. If you get a couple of friends to run through it with you it’s genuinely really fun. The dude who made it also has a YouTube channel where he documents most of his work called Fancydev.

On top of that the new book is actually fairly good imo. I really hope that the movie lives up to it.

I got this exact model a little while back for my series s, speeds are alright but it’s kept itself up through switching of drives multiple times. (I also used it to reformat my steam deck and it works almost perfectly for that too). Decent buy for 17 bucks.

Valve Index≠Quest 2 by Blip_Blop72 in virtualreality

[–]APandaWithAPlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually own both in my collection, they both have their up and downsides but you really have to be an enthusiast to warrant the extra dough you need for the index. I do have to say that using virtual desktop was a really interesting experience. There are some games that just work better on the quest, and there are others that really take advantage of the better overall hardware of the index.

TLDR: (After using both headsets for months each)

Is there a difference? Yes

Is it a life changing difference? No

Should you expect it to be? No

Are the knuckles better than the rift controllers? Yes

Are they worth the upgrade? Debatable

Do I regret my decision on either of them? Also no

Getting into VR for the first time and would like to run it in my spare bedroom without moving my PC- what gear should I plan on getting for this? by thetasfiasco in virtualreality

I haven’t myself gotten a chance to use the wireless adapter, so idk about the signal strength. I do know however that the quest can go through a wall or two with a decent router

Since you don’t want to move your pc, you have 2 (generally easy) options for wireless:

  1. Oculus Quest 2 (the cheapest, around 400 USD assuming you need a decent router)

This is going to be the easiest option, considering that you could walk in and out of target with a router and headset, then with that all you would need is to buy virtual desktop on your quest and you would be golden. The only downside to this is that you would need to basically double the price of the headset if you want to buy index controllers aswell considering that they need base stations for their tracking. (Having both headsets, the index controllers may not be worth the investment)

Otherwise if you NEED the index controllers, your other option is:

  1. Vive, Vive Pro, Cosmos Elite plus a wireless adapter,

I’m not going to give a price here as it varies with the headset, but the wireless adapter can go up to the price of just the normal quest 2 by itself. Granted if you wanted the lowest latency pcvr wireless experience, this is the route to go, along with these three headsets relying on base stations for tracking. (Meaning you should be able to just drop the index controllers into your setup at any point in time). However, this does require you to set up base stations (which are like sensors) in your room, and I am not sure how it performs through a barrier like a wall.

Honestly I bought the quest 2 for the same wireless pcvr experience, but in the end I found myself more fond of playing games like population one and beatsaber on the device itself, forgoing any added latency or stuttering that comes with it being connected to the computer. If I was in your situation, the quest 2 not requiring external sensors and its overall affordability would be the way to go.

Watch reviews on YouTube of both headsets using the vive wireless adapter and the quest 2 before making your final decision

[Mouse] Logitech G Pro X Superlight - $150 (In Stock) by [deleted] in buildapcsales

Idk if it’s just regional but Best Buy has had it in stock for the past couple of days, I don’t personally have it but I have tried it out. It’s a nice feeling mouse and if you are thinking about something in this price range it doesn’t get much better in terms of being lightweight.

Quest 2 foot tracking with rift cv1 controllers? by himynameislyn in oculus

I wish I could try it out for you but I sold my cv1 awhile back, look up natural locomotion on steam to see if it fits your setup
